Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Congrats!! I hope you fared well. Well enough that I can fix it all and upgrade/repair a few other things that I hadn't purchased yet. Except DAMN, this fuel sending unit was like $170 a few years ago...Screenshot 2024-02-08 222235.png Still better value then Nissan's $100 strut nut and...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I figured out how to "Jump Start" one of the smart battery chargers into charging an extremely dead battery :) I have a friend's friend, who I'm friends with, who works with large scale battery backup systems, and sold me a few of his old batteries, says that AGM batteries don't like to...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Trucks been working a moving some metal around using a friends 14ft enclosed trailer. It's a project for them, so makes sense to have access to their trailer. I also just found out this week that Auxito makes switch back white/amber fog light bulbs. I don't like amber fog lights, but in the winter t...

I'm looking forward to getting my new diffs with lockers installed. Technically they're done, they called last week, but I got a revised bracket that's on it's way for the rear locker. Wam is allowing a group buy for their wincher. 25% discount if at least 10 people are in and will run from 17 to th...

Re: X-Trail needs a blower assembly
The X-Trail seems to be a mis-mash of a bunch of parts. I wouldn't be surprised if the blower motor came from another model. RockAuto has the motor itself listed for $35CAD. Cross-referencing the numbers say Maxima, but also 2005-2018 Nissan Frontier, 2005-2015 Nissan Xterra and 2005-2012 Nissan Pat...

I made myself a hitch mounted tire carrier. There are a few options for those as well.

Re: Sources for Shocks
Ya. I got a bad experience with my shocks from them. I ordered a set, and the typical Rancho 9000's only lasted a few weeks. I went to get them warrantied and shipped back down to the US. They wanted then for me to pay to get them shipped back up to Canada, which I've never paid ever on what part of...

Re: Interior takes forever to warm up - mods for that?
I thought this was normal for most new cars.Mike_n_Jubes wrote:Cabin only warms up once we get rolling.
In park, idling, the cabin still isn't warm or defrosted after 15min.
Once we start driving, everything warms up and business as usual.

Re: Air down
I'll keep the leaf springs in the rear. I've got a nice setup now with good flex and a quite capable load. Would be fun to however go coilover up front.

Re: Air down
There was a situation a few years ago where I had to help a buddy. He lived out in a area with cottages and he couldn't even get out of his driveway in his Focus. I was suppose to go home sick that day after going to sick parade, but since I was the only one able and capable of helping him, I went. ...

Re: Air down
Actually keeping pressure high to reduce flotation helps the vehicle sink down to grip the underlying surface. Airing down would help in the case where the underlying surface is too far down and you need to float to stay on top. It would also be good is there is no snow depth issue, where airing dow...

Re: Re:
Awesome! Are you trying to get the Xterra to pass? If so all it needs to have is no codes (though knock sensor is okay). They don't do the tailpipe sniff test for emissions anymore. ^true on ‘99 and newer. I believe 88-98 are still sniffed. Anything Pre-OBDII get sniffed, so that means 1996 and nev...

Re: Axle and Leaf Spring
Not hard finding lift kits. There in the states. You probably could put the spring over the axle, but it would be pretty high for the front. Indeed, the front can't be listed high enough to compensate for the lift you get when going with a axle-under, or typically known as a SUA, or Spring Under Ax...

Cool, I assume it's just something you toss on temporarily when you need it then pull off? Indeed. Normally I have a brush guard that's installed up front https://i.imgur.com/rR4XclP.jpg I find the truck looks fugly without it. https://i.imgur.com/bO9rykC.jpg It makes it less cute with the brush gu...
