The Engine cover on most vehicles is either held on with clips that can usualy be pulled off with a little bit of effort, or there are visible screw/bolt heads or little removabel covers taht hide the screw and bolt heads I don't think the engine cover is the issue. I had a problem this spring w/my air bag light staying lit. I called up Nissan USA to see if it was covered under warranty and they told me about the recall. I got that scheduled later in the week and it did solve the airbag light.

Not a huge deal but my first real maintenance item that I've done myself on the Xterra. Having wrenched quite a bit on my Trans Am I have a decent set of tools to use so no worries there. The mod bug is dangerous... Yes, I caught it severely with my Trans Am. I added a Ram Air hood and air box, headers, cat-back exhaust, bigger brakes, bigger rims/tires, 1600w of Rockford Fosgate stereo and overbored the motor.
