Re: Recon 10500lbs winch
You know, as I was typing that out, I was thinking the exact same thing, however, the way they say "assist the winch", if you were pulling someone else out, your not "assisting" the winch if you're also pulling with the truck. I would see "assisting" would be moving fo...

Just to play Captain Bringdown on an otherwise joyous Friday...
Pete actually did have his knees broken recently... O.k., not knees, but wrist and ankle.

Re: A different kind of strut lift
Yeah I've heard a few guys on NPORA talking about the pros and cons of doing it that way. I figure with the right amount of backspacing you push the tire far enough away from the strut, you wouldn't need to modify the strut. I went with the Strut spacer on top with the SFD so its easy enough to go ...

Re: A different kind of strut lift
I didn't see the SFD either, to be honest... The big advantage of doing it this way is that you can fit taller tires, as the distance from the hub to the spring perch on the strut would increase by the size of your spacer. Even if it's a 2" lift, you'd be able to go from 32s to 35's or better o...

A different kind of strut lift
I was internetting a couple of days ago, and came across a Legacy with a serious lift on it. Clicking through the gallery seems to show that the knuckle was moved down in the strut. That is to say that the top knuckle hole was moved to the bottom strut hole, and bracing was added to tie the works to...

Re: 98 Path: Main relay(?) acting up
Well, I hopped in this morning, started the truck, and grabbed the key and started wiggling it. No cutting out. Doesn't seem like the tumbler/column switch is bad. I'll have to spend a little more time under the hood and check all the wiring.

98 Path: Main relay(?) acting up
I'm having some trouble with the Pathfinder in this cold weather: Start the truck, no issue. Put it in gear, and start backing (or forwarding) down the driveway, and it cuts out. By "cuts out", I mean it's as if the battery cable comes off momentarily. Engine dies, all lights go off (inclu...

Yeah, nitrogen lightens your wallet. With less weight in your wallet, you get better mileage.the x kid wrote:Okay ya I'll check my tire pressure, but I think it's good.I have nitrogen in them.If anyone cares. Thats supposed to help, right?

if anyone is looking to save some time, I kept my old links when I fixed the death wobble. I'll let you have my already-removed links to put your bushings into, as long as you give me your old links afterward.

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge Installation (BPST Fittings)
Try a hydraulics shop. There are tonnes in Welland, or you could hit the "under the bridge" industrial area in St.Kitts. OR, if you feel like going some place fun, try Vineland Hardware. THE DADDY of hardware stores. Also, I'd keep a volt meter. Especially as cars age, the alternator and b...

In that case, I've decided that you absolutely should buy the jeep. And send me the information on the Legacy wagon. Sounds like it is in my price range.SkinnyPedal wrote:Yeah, and for quite a bit more $$ too.

Re: Can somebody talk me into our out of this?
You are passing on a fast, comfortable, durable wagon for a slow, uncomfortable, unreliable pos. I've seen too many horror stories regarding leaks and noise from those hard tops to want to spend real money on a JK. Nevermind drivetrain issues. Plus: I have much more faith in being able to go to a Su...

Re: My Snow tires
The serrated sipes are pretty standard. I've always liked cooper tires. Good bang for the buck.
On my protege, I've gone through the stock summer tires and 3/4 of their replacements, and my narrower winter tires still have 2-3 seasons in them.
