Mine has been plugged just about daily in since the day i bought it years ago.

My 2 cents... Some say that if you locate the plate under the tire carrier the 407 cameras may not be able to see it but will still be visible whilst driving behind the truck. when i did mine, I used a fan assy from an old Escape i relayed the larger diameter fan of the pair (the Escapes had a dual fan set up at the time) it into the Ignition circuit so it was automatic on/off with the motor, and then relayed the second on in to the A/C compressor circiut so that it would...

both those trims are bolted on from the inside. once you remove the inner liners you will be able to get the outer pieces off.. The bigger problem is the rust around the rear glass.
