Re: Tell me about the 5.6L engines
Sux that you're working. I still have the emblem letters for you. I'll be all over the GtA looking at rigs. But not just pathys. They're quite rare so I can't limit. GMs gmt360 platform has several V8 options so those are on the table and is more likely what I'll end up with. The armada is cool but...

Re: Tell me about the 5.6L engines
[ I didn't know anyone, on here, had an Armada. Post pictures and details some time. Hey Miner, it was a 2008 Armada LE. I bought a US model because I wanted the middle bench seat instead of the mid buckets which was not offered in Can models at that time. It was loaded except for a dvd. It spoiled...

Re: Tell me about the 5.6L engines
I might be in the hammer this weekend to look at a rig for sale - we should hook up for lunch or something. Hey Ronnieboy! I'm sorry man but I'm working all weekend. Where are you looking in the hammer? A lot or private? I was thinking more about your purchase. Perhaps you should take an Armada out...

Re: Tell me about the 5.6L engines
Hey man, The engines are monsters for power and torque. It moved my 6300+lbs armada down the street no problem and tow a car trailer with vehicle with ease. The tranny in my '08 was great because it had the tow mode, tranny rad and tranny temp gauge. Not sure if the pathfinder offers that but if so ...

Re: Week Cvs on the X?
I wouldn't look too much into that. That truck has seen thousands of trails. It was likely a matter of a worn out part that finally failed, than a weak CV. It's a rarity. X2 Plus having three different "spotters" and someone yelling out "give er!" probably didn't help either hah...

Re: New project - brainstorming time
Mike, The armada is a fantastic rig and will easily carry your family. I had a US truck which had the bench middle seat which was great. My LE had all the options minus a sunroof and dvd player. The best option was the towing pkg which included the tranny cooler, temp guage and tow mode for the auto...

Re: 2005+ Xterra owners
Thanks for the info. It appears through further conversation that he will only be doing very light trails and doesn't want to beat up his truck. Looks like the PRG spacer kit is up his alley. And Simon i totally agree with you and i will be sure to voice that concern. If he chooses to upgrade at a l...

2005+ Xterra owners
Hey people, . I've got a buddy at work wanting to do a lift on his 2007 X. I just wanted to get some ideas from those who have done it and used it. I'm hoping to get pros and cons as well as prices and part sources. I know the other sites out there to check out so i won't need that info. Thanks for ...

Good point about carrying a spare Steelcityslicker. BTW do you know Clause Wagner? I hope the new parts don't set you back too much Mike. The damage looks scarey. Hey Ron, yes i do happen to know Wagner..... ;) Mike, glad you got it all buttoned up again. I say keep what you have until you save up ...

Hmmmmm? That looks very familiar Mike!!! Thank god Pete brought a spare tie rod with adjustor when mine broke. We were able to change it out on the trail. A good thing to have in your trail kit that's for sure. http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/af271/steelcityslicker_big_smoke/Ardbeg%20Sept%202010...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Adam, the new wheels and tires look really good. Nothing wrong with having the tires stick out is there? ;) And btw, they make your truck look totally different. Adam, I read Dave's comment and then re-read what I wrote - I hope my suggestion of the fender flares didn't sound offensive, wasn't inte...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Wheeled it yesterday - pre-adventure weekend Cleaned it today, real clean... Bled the brake Painted and installed the shackles, front and mid skid plate Its definitely a bad idea trying to install a steel skid plate single-handedly. I used my forehead to balance the skid in the middle while inserti...

Re: WAY too much free time (New Bumpers)
My 2 cents... Some say that if you locate the plate under the tire carrier the 407 cameras may not be able to see it but will still be visible whilst driving behind the truck. The bumper corners near the wheel well may interfere with the tire when you stuff it with 33s or larger. But i really like t...

Re: Rear Shock Install
I don't think i ever hit the adjustors on the shocks ever? If they are in good shape i wouldn't worry about it at all.
By the way, I found the softer setting to be best all around.
