Re: GoPro

Nice thing about Mil-Spec is I can build a plug into the back of the box that IS waterproof... The only reason I need the bigger backplate is room for the plug and cable... You'd then just have to ensure that the camera was still nice and snug in the housing cause if it has the larger backplate, th...

Re: GoPro

I hear ya! I couldn't imagine what work went into editing that video. As much as I enjoy shooting the video and snapping pix, editing is EXTREMELY time consuming. Sometime last week I recorded myself here at work. Had it on the "picture every 2 second" mode. Even after accumulating 6,484 p...

Re: GoPro

We have the 1080HD and we also have the rear expansion battery pack. Works well actually - as both an expansion pack and as an external battery charger. I forsee the LCD display in our near future as well as Sherri is one of those people who enoy looking at the display right after she takes a pictur...

Re: Grinding while braking

Slotted rotors are meant to peal the glazing off the pads in race applications where pad life can be sacrificed for stopping performance. There's no place for slotted rotors off the track, even use on the track is questionable. Pfft.. Race applications. I'd get slotted rotors just for the weight sa...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?

I can tell you this, though: w/o the carpet, the floor transfers quite a bit of heat up from the transfer case. Kinda nice in the winter. In the summer, it will melt lipstick (and various other sundry cosmetics) left in your purse if that purse is resting on the floor. Errr.... you own a purse? Oh ...

Re: Looking for a GoPro HD?

Best Buy.com (US version) had the 1080 HD for $260 just a few weeks ago. Weird thing was that the shelf price was still $299. We told them it was cheaper on their website - they looked it up and gave us the cheaper price. Mind you - this is also when the Canadian Dollar was favourable.. not like it ...

Re: Water under carpet

The only time we've ever had water under the carpet in our Xterra was when we took a man-made underwater road when the water was high. Fortunately it was nice and hot and it dried in no time. Weird that water made it from your sunroof to underneath your carpet though. I'm no expert by any means but ...

If you have room and time to grab it, I'd be much obliged.

If not it can easily wait until the Christmas party.
LOL! Time to grab and bring what?!?!?

Re: What did you do to your rig today?

@Fyrtowr - should have bought a bunch as I am sure folks would buy them...I'd give you 10  I have no problem doing that - it is only 10 minutes south of Detroit. I'll keep this in mind come Christmas Party time. ;) The other "mantenna's" that he had had more noticeable wobble to them...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?

Hopped over to the States last night to pick up one of them "Mantenna's" since Hydroline destroyed our Wilson antenna. I get over there and sadly they were sold out of the 102" stainless steel whips BUT he said "I have a bunch here that guys have returned that have a slight bend ...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?

I removed the rear wiper from the truck, replaced it with a used 17" wiper I had just removed from our car. Played around with it a little - turned it on... squirted a little washer fluid on the window.. admired how it wiped the rear window... then removed it and the original tiny wiper back on.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?

Removed our CB antenna and the mounting bracket from the truck. Hoping to hop over to the States and pick up one of them "mantenna's" at, IMO, the BEST CB radio store in the world - Palco Electronics . Now my only concern is whether or not the 102" whip can support my Canada flag! LOL...

115 km/hr = 70 MPH.. coincidence.. I think not! That was the speed at which we got our best fuel economy on vacation. Not sure how many RPM's we were at though. Then again your rig is SC and our is NA.
