Road Safety Recall Database

Saw this one one of our local tuner club websites but it is applicable to anyone who owns a car. I'm not sure if this is posted anywhere on this site, but it doesn't hurt to possibly have it posted twice. It would make a good sticky actually for future use as well.

Cool. Thanks.

Before buying any car/truck it is always a good idea to check out the recalls (or service bulletins which are very helpful).

I also check the American equivalent. After Ralph Nader, the US are more prone to implement a recall than we are up here even though the cars/trucks are the same. Transport Canada seems to be getting better.

Thanks!

EDIT: You can subscribe to the US recall list but only by make and year (better than nothing)

When I did my fuel filler recall, I believe they did it for free

Thanks for this post. It encouraged me to call the dealer and check for recalls completed on my new to me truck. Thanks to that I'm getting a new fuel pump/sending unit and gas tank - supposedly all free of charge.

If you're buying a used car, its definitely worth looking into. I'm now going to call the Hyundai dealer to check out the Accent we bought for my wife last year.

Cheers

Wow, old recall, hence why you get a new tank.

Happen to have a VIN range? I am often the .01% luck guy.

I don't remember exactly, but with such a low number, there probably isn't a range, it's specific vehicles flagged by vin#. the only way to find out is to run the vin.

I have a 2002 Civic and it had a recall.
However when you take it to the dealer they look up the VIN and my Civic was not part of any recall.

petespath, that means that it doesn't apply to your car then or the recall has already been completed.

Just because there is a recall for a model year it doesn't mean that it applies to all models of that vehicle manufactured in that year.
