That's your stabilizer link broken off the frame. Check the rest of it for rust. These things are really bad for frame cancer.

Honestly, you can take the rear swaybar right off. I have, and so have others, with little to no effect towards on road handling.

Like Simon says. Rear stabilizers are for the Mario Andretti's of the world. They serve a purpose, and are very important, but not usually for a lifted truck just going down the road.

Even the law, more or less, agrees.

However, do not think the same about the sway bar on the front. You need that one, despite what anyone will tell you... And that one is truly in the law books.

yup, i took mine off too.

you should take a hammer and tap on the sides of your frame to make sure it is not rusting out. If you catch it early enough you can repair it, but if it rusts too much, you will have nothing to weld a patch to. The common spots for holes are toward the rear of the frame above and around the rear wheels, both sides.

Skid Plates are more for protecting your engine, oil pan, t-case, gas tank... things like that, which you might smash on a rock when offroad. If you come out to a meeting, check out Simon's truck, he has a full set of skids, you can see what they cover.

There is one this week in Brampton, and another next Thursday in Vaughan.

We often have them in Brampton/Mississauga, and Milton. and the odd one elsewhere.

Yeah, you'll have to get that frame looked at for the safety. The e-test should be alright, unless she's running like crap. These things don't normally have too much trouble passing.

Just check it all the way along, especially over the rear wheels and back from there. That's the bad areas.
