Garmin nüvi Battery Recall

Garmin is recalling certain models of their nüvi navigation units due to bad batteries.

The models affected are from the following model ranges:

• nüvi 200W, 250W, & 260W
• nüvi 7xx (where xx is a two-digit number)

If you have a Garmin nüvi from that model range use the link below and enter your serial number to see if you navigation unit is affected.

I have a 265w so should be safe but if this turns out like the laptop battery fiasco expect to see more recalls over the next year.

"Your device has not been recalled." - that's what I got when I checked my 760

had my 260W recalled.. pretty painless.. just print off the prepaid UPS shipping label, send it in, and you get it back in about 14 days with a new battery..

Health Canada just officially announced the recall. Your tax dollars paying our Government into action...PMSL!

Well I was expecting 14 days.. it's now been 5 weeks and still no sign.. I called yesterday and was told "It's on it's way to Alberta" (and then distributed from there)..
