Re: car alarm
Viper usually makes a pretty good one. There are others made by the same company (Directed Electronics) that have the same technology, without the Viper name, for much less. On my old truck I had an Avital alarm (Viper twin) that was quite good.
Make sure the installer puts the little LED in a highly visible spot, as that is your only real deterrent. Most petty thieves looking just to steal the contents of the vehicle will shy away just from that. If they're out to get your truck, they're more than likely more skilled, and will have it regardless of any alarm system that's installed, if they want it bad enough.

Krown Lakeshore is a friend of CNTC, and an authorised Viper/Clifford dealer.
They installed my remote start/alarm unit and I've been extremely happy with it.

Best thing to get is a 2 way pager system that will page you if your alarm or shock sensor goes off.BaTmAn13 wrote:hey i need a car alarm because someone broke into my underground parking garage last night and decided to go shopping in my truck. needless to say i got owned. dident think i was going to need one of these things but i guess i actualy do anybody know of any good ones ???

I've got a couple of options I can have installed for you:
Top of the line system, retails at $1000.00 I can put in for you for $850
http://www.autopageusa.com/t_inside.cfm ... e9de1a12be" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This one I can install for $750 ( I would suggest the above one for the difference of $100 bucks)
http://www.autopageusa.com/t_inside.cfm ... 5b69298e0d" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And this one would be about $400
http://www.autopageusa.com/t_inside.cfm ... 26faf6d261" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
All of the above would give you basic install and functability. ie: there are window roll up/down features, etc that can be wired, but not included with the basic install.
The first one is the best system, with a 1 mile range on the pager

He's on highway 25, just south of the 401, on the right hand side.
