In the video, the guy explains that it is too hard a climb to be tied to the tower - exhaustion would become the problem. And it's legal, in this case, to not be tied on, as the safety risk of being exhausted and tied to the tower is greater than not being tied on and not being fatigued.

Strange, but true.

i swear he's in cowboy boots, And am I the only person who thinks that D-ring (or where he hooks up) arent much of a fall arrest particularly at the top?

I swear I felt vertigo just watching that. Couldn't pay me enough money.

Looks tiring more than scary. After the first little bit it doesn't matter how high you go, the fall will hurt just as much regardless of the height.

I work as a crew supervisor / health and safety co-ordinator / management for an industrial (read: flat roof) roofing company. We get to see all kinds of heights, at the edge of a roof, scaffold, boom lift, ladders. A fear of heights isn't very helpful. When I first started the guys on one crew wanted to see if I was afraid or not. I just giggled and scampered up the ladder.

For all you Torontonians who are adrenaline junkies:

The latest CN Tower attraction will allow people to step outside 1,168 feet in the air and take a walk around the observation pod. A steel walkway has been constructed for the new attraction, offering people the chance to see Toronto from the top of the world and really confront their fear of heights...
