I have a bit of a stumble at idle - occasionally. Either the computer is relearning, TB and/or injectors needs cleaning and/or something else.

I will have to bring it by sometime Mike to pull/reset the codes and see if they return. Plus some other little things to be done.

Stuart said they had to install the eliminators or there would be interference. I will have to look underneath.

As for power, I am not sure if there is more or not but I think there is more. The motor/tranny have 170+k on it and with the old exhaust I did not push the loud pedal too hard and I never ran the 1/4 before or after for comparison.

I am just glad the exhaust is sealed up tight (passenger manifold came off in two pieces but driver side was still in one piece though cracked)

I do have an OWM passenger manifold in the garage if anyone wants to buy it

Go figure, guess what code I got today... P0138 LMAO! I could only laugh, it seems when it rains it pours. May be pushed into O2 sensors sooner than I had planned.

LOL...talk about timing...BAD timing!

My CEL is still going strong. Will give it some more time before checking it out. Maybe someone with a scanner will be at a coffee meet?

I have a cheap handheld scanner if you need (not just my Scan Gauge), will read standard codes that are tripped and pending.

I've erased it twice and it comes back as soon as it does its thing. There was no sign of it last Tues when I went to Milton Nissan.

Gotta figure out if I'm going to do it myself or take it in.

Thanks Rob. No worries. You guys were busy and I just popped by to say Hi.

There is a trick to pulling the codes withut a scanner but I have forgotten who told me and how to do it (time for google).

The only trouble I see with doing the O2 yourself is getting them out. Not sure how stuck they can get (heat and PB?)

I have a scanner, Ron. If you're in the 'hood and swing by maybe I can be convinced to help you out :)

I do believe the O2 sensor requires some special tool, not just your standard socket, to remove from the pipe.

Well, my O2 is done :) The one I got the code for anyways - Bank 1 sensor 2.

Long story short my buddy apparently called in a favor with his dad and showed up at my place at 11:00 today with an O2 sensor in his hand and asked me for $60. That was a nice surprise.

I "rented" the tool kit from Partsource and ended up I couldn't even use it. There wasn't enough space to get it onto the sensor because of a nearby heat shield. As far as I can tell you can't even use the bottom sensors, but you'd need it for teh top sensors.

After some PB blaster, a big wrench, and a big grunt it broke loose no problem. Spun the rest of it out by hand. Per the included instructions I spun the new one back in by hand with the included anti sieze and gave her a half turn after to tighten / seat it after it was finger tight.

Aside from breaking it loose the hardest part was getting the wire back up to the top of the engine with that big ass connector on it. Went and busted out my wire fish for that. Had to push it up carefully as far as I could get my arm up from below, then pulled it the rest of the way up.

While I was in there I found the two driver's side O2 harness connectors were just flopping around on the valve cover, so after inspecting I put them back onto their clips safe and sound now. I think the O2 I changed was the last OEM one. It said BOSH and Nissan on it, but has a different profile than the rest (thicker) and was the only one with a gray wire cover. The other 3 and the new one were all black.

Cleared the code, drove around to get all of the systems through their checks and voila - no more code :-)

Ron, the stumble AFAIK is normal with headers on, I've got it too, very minor, started after headers were installed, engine runs more like a small block V8 now...

Thanks guys. I gotta a lumpy idle and didn't even have to install a cam!

I do need to pull the codes to see what's up to be certain. Likely the same old ones and once cleared they may not come back or if they do it will be time for new O2.

An update:
The CEL has tured itself off. Must have good flow through the cats and sensors to be back to normal...yeah!
To clarify...the CEL was not related to the new exhaust. I think it was because of the leaks and now it has sorted itself out. I still want to check any stored codes to see what is there and clear them out.

Yeah it is about time.

Well I might have spoken too soon cause the CEL came back on today. Wonder if it is related to the cold temps?

And the brake light came on but is now off.

I am starting to wonder about the driver.

Driver is always an issue in those yellow trucks. lol

For the brake light issue, check your fluid. Could be low.

Yup, I agree it is the driver (Lorie drives the truck most times :D).

Fluid is low but above min. Usually a sign that the pads are low since there isn't a leak. I suspect the rears are on the low side but won't know for sure until I get it into the garage to look at all. Looks like brake job is now on the to do list (just when you think you are caught up).

The CEL went out and the brake light came back on...the truck is playin with me...lol
