Another new Ottawa X-er
Hi all,
I'm waaaay out in the east end.
Just picked up a used Silver 04 Xterra. I've been busy ripping off factory step bars etc. New to 4wd too. I am a recovering Subaru addict.
My truck is sitting on great snows, but I have a set of 15 inch rims that I will be putting some good rubber on in the spring.
Looking forward to a coffee or beer meet so I can sponge up some advice on trail etiquette lifts, tires, gear etc.
Matt

Welcome to CNTC. I'm sure those Ottawa folks will get a meet going at some point.

Man, Ottawa members starting to come out of the woodwork lately. Love it!
Now... Define WAY east end... Are we talking Hawkesbury or something like that? I'm in Fallingbrook/Cumberland.
Where did you pick up your truck from? Any plans for modifications and the like?
And yes, we will get a coffee meet going at some point. There are a few members that meet quite regularly for coffee, it's usually organised through the Blackberry group, so if you are a BB user, search for the thread and you can join in there.
Otherwise, keep your eyes peeled on the forum, we should be posting something up soon enough.
Again, welcome to the club!

Re: Another new Ottawa X-er
Thanks. I'm in Vars - right at the city limits. I only moved here three years ago, but spent the first year overseas.
I picked the truck up used at a small dealer in the west end. 83 K, no rust, original paint - no bells and whistles. It's auto, but I can't have everything.
I already ripped out two of the resonators, added some Hellas and switched the ABS so I can kill it. I removed the factory step bars and rigid mud flaps. I ordered up the waterproof seat covers too.
I have a set of 15" rims for summer. It's on 16s with snow tires now. I plan on getting some good tires and doing either a "PML" or maybe that with an ADD-A-LEAF. I'm going to wait until I chat with some more experienced folks before I attempt to do that. I'm interested in skid plates and mebbe ditching the auto hubs, but again I'll wait to chat with folks that know better.

Welcome! There getting to be quite a bit of Ottawa people showing up. We need to triple our efforts here in the Niagara Region and GTA to compensate!
