Finally...getting the lift - Part II

Post by sandor »

Now that dudulicious' lift is complete, I am going to finally lift my truck as well. I got all the parts, or at least I think I do, and I am going to lift it this Saturday at my place in Brantford. Like the last venue, unheated two car garage, but to add a little bit of a challenge, it has a low ceiling height. Whatever, we'll figure it out.

Anyone that wants to come to watch and learn, or help participate is more than welcome. Following dudude's lead, I'll provide donuts, but since I don't drink coffee, you are on your own for that. Luckily, Brantford is small; 2 Tim's within 2 km's of my place, 6 within 3 km's, 13 within 5 km's and 18 in Brantford total; I am sure you can find one to grab your own coffee, and we can get someone to do coffee runs throughout the day. If you cannot find a Tim's, you will have to settle for my beer.

Count me in! Pete, what do you drink then? Tea? Hot chocolate? Steeped tea? I've emptied the camera, ready to take some more shots...

Pete,

Count me in as well. Let me know what time you want to start. If you need me to bring anything (I know you have all the tools) but as far as more jack stands, floor jack whatever just throw it out there someone will have it. Your truck is going to look great buddy!!!

I should have all the tools needed to do this myself, but feel free to bring whatever you want. I have an air compressor and the basic air tools we'll need.

I don't frequent Tim's by any means, but at meets I usually get hot chocolate...

Up to you; we had one at Rod's, and used it at first, it blew out and we never re-lit it. Once you get working, I don't think you need it...at least I didn't. It's not supposed to be as cold this weekend as last weekend, and my garage is largely underground and sheltered from the wind.

I think I am going to start at 9:30-10am. I am going to start with the rear shackles, so if you guys can't make it until later, no worries. Probably going to have a couple of local buddies over that day to help as well. I should be good for jack stands and floor jacks. Rod, you can keep the ones you have there; I won't need them.

Hey Pete, I'm finished with the ones I have. We put the rear back together for now, makes it a little safer while working on the subframe

That is already spoken for by me along with pointing out the obvious ... however dropping tools and eating most of the donuts are still available. Of course making stupid remarks and getting gear oil on your crotch have no quota, so that is open to anyone.

Gear oil on the crotch is not available at this event; nor will there be any tupperware activities, junk flinging, or citronella fireballs. I am sorry to say that unlike Rod's house of ill repute, my house is boring, my neighbors are uptight, and there will only be activities related to lifting the truck, and maybe some donut eating and some beer drinking. There might even be some pizza on the scene at some point in time, but that is about it.

Sorry to disappoint.
