Rear hatch area power outlet.

My rear outlet has quit working, has anyone dealt with this before. The other 3 work fine. Is there a special tool needed to get the thing out so I can replace it, or is there a fuse somewhere i'm missing? I didn't think it would bother me, but it is driving me nuts, just knowing it doesn't work.

i would start with a fuse

I had lost the rear one and the one below the cigar lighter. When I went to NOrth End morpheus fixed it right up. It wasn't a fuse they just did something with the wiring I think

Fuse under the hood would be my guess. It's for both power outlets, if I'm not mistaken.

I wouldn't jump on replacing it yet, I would test the circuit to see if any power is reaching the back. If not then trace the circuit back and try to find the fault. Of course, as has been suggested, try the easy fix first, check if a fuse is blown.

If power is reaching the back, then inspect the plug for damage or bent/loose contacts, It may be an easy fix that doesn't required replacement. If all else fails then go to the drastic measure of replacement.

when mine quit it was the wiring connection behind the plug.
Fuses were fine, wiring fell off!
2 min fix,
Pull pannel away from the side, plug harness back into outlet, push pannel back into place.
Done.

Doesn't the rear one come straight off the battery? The cable for mine comes off the battery, runs thru a 20A fuse, cuts across the engine firewall, thru a hole in the wall, straight down the driver side floor to the rear cargo area, cuts under the plastic panel, and hooks into the outlet, which is secured with some velcro.

Maybe mine is one of those special "Rob-Mods."

Chances are, (after looking at the fuse),if you trace the wire, you'll discover the problem.

More than likely a fuse or the wire fell off. Check to see what else might be on the same circuit as that plug. If they are out then it is likely a fuse (check teh voltage after the fuse is replaced to be sure there isn't a small short somewhere). If not then check the plugs at the back and the ground.

To be honest I don't remember... but it is likely. I have one in the back of mine, which wasn't stock, but I did it post break up.

The rear one, and the one in the arm rest console, are direct off the battery, so they should always be live. No special mods required, came like that from the factory so that you could use the outlets, specifically the one in the back, without haveing to leave your keys in the ignition, in the ACC position

I had the same problem with mine actually, and it ended up just being a fuse. Can't remember though if the fuse was under the dash or in the engine bay, but anyways, it was a fuse issue, and once replaced, everything worked just fine.

Anyways, start there, see what you get!

mine also went but so did the rear speaker on that side also check the wiring that travels below the rear drivers side seat it was the wires had been cut by the body welds now I fixed the wires ans used a dremil to smooth it out and lots of tape

So the way it comes from the factory (one wire straight back from the battery, with a fuse on it somewhere along the way) just happens to look like a "Rob-mod."

I'm not sure if this says something good about Rob or bad about Nissan

Thanks gang,

I was a little pokey getting around to it, but ran down the list last night. I didn't think to check under the hood for the fuse, because out of the 4 accessory plugs, 3 of which are constant power, I assumed (ohhhhhhh bad) that they were all fused under the dash. Thus I have learned, that two are under the dash and two are under the hood. I replaced the 15a fuse and I am now back in operation.
