I've been 5 weeks now and they finally have decided to write mine off. Any idea how much they will give me ?

Way more than it's worth, or you expect. Checking on Kijiji at the time, I could have practically bought 2 Pathfinders of the same year and condition with what they gave me.

Unless things have changed in a year.

Your dealer sucks. My entire case from start to finish was resolved in a week.

Enjoy the free rental. Now that it's been turned over to Crawford and Company, it should process pretty quickly. I assume the 5 weeks was your dealer dragging their feet for some reason. Once they write it off, it's out of their hands.

Outrageous. Mine was written off the same morning I brought it in... that's how simple the procedure is to determine the condition.

Now I'd be worried whatever process they need to follow to pass it over to Crawford will sit on someone's desk until you "remind them". Assume nothing.

You can see "my case" a few posts back. That's how it should work.

Sounds like you need to find a new dealer. You'll be picking up the check and signing over your old truck at the dealership it's at now. Once you have the check in your hands, you can tell them you'll be spending it elsewhere :)

Nobody keeps posting how much they got for the write off. Can anyone at least estimate my payout based on what they got. ?

My father got 5500 for his 2000 model, with 300k on it. It was in decent shape otherwise.

Well, here I am March 11th. More than 2 months after dropping my 2001 off @ 401/Dixie Nissan. It was decided 5 week ago that it was a write off and neither the dealership Nor Nissan customer care can tell me why there has been no response from crawford or whomever is supposed to do the payouts. I still have no idea how much I'm going to get (if anything at this pint )

Is there anyone else I can call that has some pull to get things done ?

2 months!!!!?!?!? I'd be standing in the dealership owner's living room until the police came. That is outrageous!

The dealer (401 dixie Nissan) dragged their ass for the first 4 weeks and eventually took pics and submitted them over a month ago. They have had no response since they submitted the report. The dealer management has forwarded the complaint to Nissan Canada and I called Nissan customer care a week and a half ago and they said today that there is no update on my case. WTF????
Are there any dealer folks on here that can offer ome insight into this process ?

It's all done by 3rd party that neither the dealer or Nissan Canada have any control over.

Just enjoy the free rental car and keep driving it.
Just keep in mind that the rental will come to an end very quickly once they cut you a cheque, so make sure you're already doing your shopping ahead of time.

Call Nissan Canada back and tell them the reporting team at W5 and City Pulse are considering running the story. LOL

I presume they are covering a rental for you at least.

Already gave the rental back 2 weeks ago and have purchased another vehicle. Just waiting on the payout towards my new car loan.
How can Nissan have no control over this ?

Why not keep the rental?

They have no control because they aren't the ones processing the paperwork.
It is all done by a 3rd party independent appraiser, Crawford adjusters.
You could ask the dealer for the adjuster information and call them directly.

That's the problem.... The dealer says they have no contact with crawford other than email. They said that there is no phone contact that they could give me.
