Titan Off Road Xterra Snorkel
So at this year's AW, a few people commented on my snorkel, and asked how I had installed it etc.
I didn't get around to doing a full play by play, but I have all of the pics now located in my photobucket album, so feel free to peruse them, ask questions if you want.
For the record, this snorkel was obtained from Duncan at Titan Off road. It is originally intended to fit on the D40 Navara, however I was able to adapt it to fit the Xterra fender quite nicely. There was quite a bit of shenanigans with the airbox and the tube running inside the fender to make it all work, but it did, so...

I'm fairly certain that these snorkels will fit without too much effort on any of the 2001-2004 Frontiers (cough NIGE, SNAFU cough cough) but I can't confirm that.

Re: Titan Off Road Xterra Snorkel
I started with my grinder and a cut off disc. After the hole was marked, I cut an X inside the marked out hole, and then trimmed the pieces off as close as I could without going outside the markings.moose200 wrote:how did you go about cuttin the hole in the fender?
Once I had a rough hole started, I then came back with my pneumatic (air powered) rotary tool with a die bit, and cleaned up the edges.
The RECOMMENDED tool to cut the hole is a hole saw of course, but I didn't have one that was that large, and I didn't feel the need to spend any money on a tool that I may only use once.

Very possible Michel, he'd have to do a test fit of course, but anything is possible.Nd4SpdSe wrote:Actually wouldn't that fit Ironmans Pathy?

Re: Titan Off Road Xterra Snorkel
i like short style better (where it doesn't go down the whole fender) but d40 fenders are pretty different. My fender is relatively flat right where you're drilling the main hole, except for the tacky flares. It would take some mcguyverin' to get the snorkel to sit flush on the body, but it's doable judging by your skills. You got it to sit very well on the flare.

Re: Titan Off Road Xterra Snorkel
Thats what I did, I ended up spending something like $30 bucks on the large hole saw, and then still ended up having to use my die grinder, because the hole is supposed to be more egg shaped than a circle. Hind sight 20/20 the hole saw was a waste of money.Jayman wrote:I started with my grinder and a cut off disc.
