Again, I know it's a Nissan site but...

Post by northern feller »

...does anyone have any experience with compatibility between 89-95 Toyota pickups (not tacoma) and 92-95 Toyota 4Runners. Reason I ask is I have a line on the Warn winch bumper for the pickup of that generation and I am trying to figure out what sorts of hurdles I face with the 4Runner and making it work.
Thanks if you can help.

I'd assume they're very similar in design. For instance, Nige is running an ARB bumper off a hardbody pickup of the same era. It fits just fine, though, is slightly different from mine.

In doing some research on chassis codes, I noticed that the codes were quite similar

4Runner = VZN130
Truck = VZN100 (or 110 for extended cab)

I searched on arbusa.com, and it appears both have the same part number for an ARB unit, so I'd be inclined to think your Warn unit would work on the 4Runner as well

The ARB part number that fits both is 3414070

Why not call or contact Warn. They should be able to let you know if the bumper will fit. Or do a comparison of part numbers between the Tacoma and 4Runner bumper like Simon did. That should give you a pretty good indication.

You can also do more comparisons between the part numbers for a few different bumper manufacturers and see if they also show matching numbers between the Tacoma and 4Runner.

I wasn't able to find a WARN part number for a 4Runner for a bumper, hence my search took me over to ARB.

According to this TJM page the pickup and 4Runner also use the same bumper.

Toyota Pickup 89-94
Toyota 4 Runner 90-95
Bull Bar T15 Steel S1586E
Bull Bar T15 Aluminum A1586E

Install guide for the pick up (PDF)

Part # for the PU is #68450, no luck finding the 4Runner #.

Here's an excerpt from that thread, with the question answered.....
the only difference in bolting this on my 2nd gen runner vs. the pickup was the 4runner turn signals are too big to fit in the slot for the turn signals....you'd need to get the pickup signals. I have been driving without them in the front for quite some time with no problems

Otherwise, it bolts right up!
