Help with what my truck is worth please.
Hey guys was considering selling the truck, but honesty never sold a vechile before and don't know what it maybe worth. Can someone give me some ideas please. My left knee is gettin tired of the clutch pedal so I'm considering an used auto pathfinder. The trucks an 05 with aprox 261,000 on the odometer. It's got a list of aftermarket stuff..bumper,skids,volant,brand new clutch getting done this week, 2" coil over, 2" body lift, cap, upper a arms, sliders, winch, and various other things I can't remember right now. I realize the aftermarket stuff dosent really mean a whole lot to the average joe, but any ideas of a price I should ask? Oils been changed religiously every 5000 km+\-, other fluids every 2 years. I'm the original owner and it's never been in an accident. Any idea? What would you guys ask. I'm clueless to what this would be worth. Thanks Pidge.

Re: Help with what my truck is worth please.
I think to the right buyer you wont have to look back feeling like a piece of you was sold with it. If you took your time and found someone who really knew what they wanted I bet you'd do alright.
We damn near have the same truck, I think if I were to sell mine I'd put it up for $15 000 and be prepared to take a hit.
I don't like even contributing to this conversation, shame on you for even thinking about getting rid of that beauty rig!!!

Re: Help with what my truck is worth please.
Did a quick search on Autotrader.ca for a Fronty between 2005-2007 with more then 200,000KM and came up with two trucks. They are priced at $6,200 and $7,300. With all of your extra stuff you should ask for more but unless you find someone who can appreciate what has gone into the truck I would find it hard to believe that someone would give you more then $9,000.
Looking at similar trucks will give you an idea. Unfortunately when they get to the stage you are at now they are worth more to the current owner then on the open market.
This is just my opinion and I certainly don't know anything about the used vehicle market. Hope this helps.

I think JAS pegged it.
Very true. To most buyers a stock vehicle is worth more then a modified one, but to us they're worthless stock.JAS wrote:

Re: Help with what my truck is worth please.
tough market to be in. nobody wants a well used high mileage rig. what did drews truck go for?
(edit: i should rephrase, the number of people looking to take a "risk" on a high mile rig for wheelin is low, but they're out there)
just curious, what did that rig go for brand new In 2005?
what if you just wheel it till its done and have a dd on the side? or make it a winter beater n prolong the life of a nice clean pathy for warmer months?
gluck with the next move pidge!

Ah it's got high mileage, but I'm not sure what you mean by well used. As far as Drews truck goes I'd ask him personally.

Re: Help with what my truck is worth please.
guess with the offroading mods and high miles, one would assume it's been "enjoyed" and has had a fun life so far, nothing wrong with that was trying to remember what Drews asking was as it was a nicely built rig with high miles too (couldn't find the add), for comparison.
hopefully you being the original owner will help with the sale, if and when. it is what it is, same guys on the toyota forum selling nicely modded rigs with relatively high k's', and well they sit for a while and always have to drop the price down, same here. as the saying goes, value exists in the mind.
i'm sure your truck would make for an awesome wheelin rig for someone looking to start, it's already ready to go and turn key i'm sure!

Re: Help with what my truck is worth please.
To add to what Romey is saying, I think the challenge is realized when one considers the demographic that would buy a rig with mods and some kms on it: probably 20 something single males not in school. The rig needs to fit their budget and be appealing vs other things they can buy (jeeps) etc. If you can find away to reach that audience you may have a better chance at a sale. Just my 2¢.

It's worth nothing. I'll take it off your hands for $10
JAS has you pegged. You'll be lucky to get what you feel is fair for it. Look at Tankhunter's X for example. With all the modifications, he's had a tough time selling it for even a fraction of what he's put into it.
