engine speed sensor

2000 xterra 3.3 has anyone done the engine speed sensor i need to do etest i got a letter in mail saying etest is not due this year i went to mto and i was told i need to do etest i have 3 codes it wont pass
Knock sensor i can do myself
Evap i can do
But speed sensor no clue if i wanna attempt it

What are the code numbers? Do you mean Crankshaft or Camshaft position sensor?

Okay, that's the crankshaft position sensor. It's on the bellhousing of the transmission. I replaced mine, it wasn't too hard but it is a b*tch to reach. May be easier from underneath or the drivers side wheel well. I had my Supercharger off at the time (or plenum for non SC).
It doesn't actually impact the running of the truck according to the service manual, so it sucks that we fail emissions for it. We have a distributor so its not like a car with coil packs.
