Re: Spare tire mounting question and help.
Back of the truck : Need that space for packing for a trip. Also not sure I want that heavy projectile even with tie down strap back there in case of an accident. :O Mine's stored in the back, is over 100lbs (36" TSL), and it didn't move when I flopped the truck on it's side. Mounted properly ...

Re: 1.5 pml
You don't need to get new shocks, however if you want the most down-travel out of your PML, you want to get longer shocks.
If the PML is just for looks (no or minor off-roading) no need for new shocks.

Re: Dirt Every Day
Netflix picks and chooses which episodes / merged episodes to offer. YouTube has the entire series as originally produced. The episodes don't line-up between the two...the Hawaiian episode is S1E15 or something on Netflix, but is EP.48 on YouTube. If you want a taste of it, watch Netflix, if you wan...

Re: Powerless Door Locks
Rear Defrost? Yeah, only 3 lines actually work on mine, so if the window is fogged up, by using the defrost, I get a better idea of what is behind me, but not exactly what you would call a clear view. I know where the SECU is, and there are an abundance of WD22s in the local boneyard, so I can alway...

Re: Powerless Door Locks
Thanks Adam  ...if it is indeed a timer, it must be part of the "smart entrance control unit". The FSM has no mention of it in the system description, wiring diagrams or trouble diagnosis section of Power Door Locks. I tested the under-hood fuse for continuity, and it was good...p...

Re: Powerless Door Locks
I have never used the key myself so I am not sure. Does the lock/unlock button on the armrest work on the locks? No sir...that's what I usually use, so that is how I first noticed the issue. Power locks are now manual locks in all regards. Check the door lock timer. On older Nissan's it would fail ...

Re: Powerless Door Locks
Thanks for the tip. I've opened and closed all doors many times since they quit. The courtesy light comes on when doors are opened, and goes off when closed, so the door switches work. I don't have a fob, so I used the key cylinders to lock/unlock all doors, and activate/deactivate the security. Now...

Powerless Door Locks
2000 Xterra...all doors/hatch used to lock/unlock collectively through the key cylinders, door lock switches and power door lock toggle switches as designed. Now, all I get is a clicking sound from a relay; none of the doors lock/unlock collectively. Each door must be locked individually by key or i...

Re: AW outside the box
Last year it was a bit of everything...not just trailered rigs. You should go.

Re: 2000 Xterra - No Start Condition
I think that will be part of the mystery, as 00 was the only year @15, 01-04 was @10. Possibly 01 had the extra hp as well to coincide with the timing, and just wasn't marketed that way.

Re: AW outside the box
I did have a Jeep, liked it a lot. Met a lot of great people, and still continue to hang out with them. Probably going to see Drizit at the May 24 run again this year...I was just poking fun. Since there are so many Jeeps out there, it is easy to find that one idiot, (like the guy who got his Jeep s...

Re: AW outside the box
The issue I ran into was no one signed up for the harder trails. If I'm picking things that are 2 hard that's fine, I'm more looking to get a feel for people who want to step up from shoe lake want to do. I mean we could do beaver dam or something like that to. I am not sure why that is, maybe peop...

Re: AW outside the box
I'd like to think that there is enough interest to do something for everyone. I personally wouldn't mind getting up early (ish), taking a small group (no more than 4 or 5) out on a trail in the morning (leaving on time), regroup, and head back out in the afternoon for another run on a different trai...

Re: AW outside the box
I did Timbers 1 and the Rock (upper and lower) last year...no rock rails, no body damage. Take your time, pick the right line, and you should be fine.

Re: AW outside the box
I'm always up for harder trails, or helping those who want to try something harder. The problem I have is timing...AW has always been a bad weekend for me, and as such I think I have only made it to one or two of them. If I can make it this year, I am up for some harder trails, however I don't want ...

Re: 2000 Xterra - No Start Condition
Not sure if it was my imagination, but cold start-ups aren't as smooth as before, or what I would expect. Today, it was very evident that it didn't like something. I let it warm up, changed the timing to 10, and it seems to drive more like it did before. I also bumped up the idle with the TPS unplug...

Re: 2000 Xterra - No Start Condition
Considering the knock sensors are known to fail pretty regularly on the VG33's, and generally they don't do a lot on the N/A models, I wouldn't rely on it to adjust a lot of timing. As for listening for knock, I hear them all the time, along with squeaks, rattles and bangs. I can actually have a con...

Re: 2000 Xterra - No Start Condition
I assume there were no major differences in the engines...camshafts have the same P/N for 00-04 for N/A engines...distributor is the same for all 3.3L Nissans including R50's and WD22's.
