Re: Adding more insulation

My 1990 PathSE had issues with the temperature gauge never going higher than 1/3 even after changing the thermostat. I gave up on it, and assumed that it's just the way the truck runs. However, having lived in Ottawa, and having experienced the winters that you are experiencing, I can tell you that ...

Re: Very slack brakes

Simon, thanks for the tip. I had the shop take apart and clean out the hoses, and reinstall them. The brakes are a little bit stronger, but the brake pedal still "deflates" down to the floor if I keep it pressed. I decided that, after 5 visits to the shop and no resolution to the brake sys...

Re: Very slack brakes

UPDATE: as of yesterday (Friday), the shop replaced all the components (Wagner and whatever else) with stock Nissan pads, shoes, drum, kit, etc... and also replaced the master brake cylinder. They then did another full flush using a machine, changed the brake fluid with new again, and then put the c...

Re: Very slack brakes

Hmm... well, there are no leaks anywhere. The system flush revealed a myriad of air bubbles, which prompted the shop to flush and replace the fluid with brand new brake fluid. There still are no leaks. They say that they've cycled the new fluid through the system about the equivalent of 3x to make s...

Very slack brakes

About 2 weeks ago I decided to finally bite the bullet and replace the brakes (front and rear, complete). I've been having problems with the truck not stopping as well as I would have liked, and aside from that I have not had a functional handbrake for at least 3yrs and it was really beginning to an...

Re: How many kilometers do you have?

very close to 290,000 (I think it was somewhere around 289,670?) and the only thing I've had to do was to replace the clutch back around 98,000 with the super-duper Canadian made model recommended by a few other boards. Mind you, I now need to also replace my complete braking system (from the pump o...

Re: I am doin the 200k for cancer and need your support

Shoes are for wussies! So I just got home. Minidisco; I'm pretty sure I saw your bike a couple times but there was usually a few people around and I was on the move so I didn't have a chance to say hi. When I was coming to the top of the mountain in Hamilton I saw a bike like yours and a guy ...

Re: I am doin the 200k for cancer and need your support

Awesome, we'll see you there. Are you staying in the tent site? If so, drop me a line; we'll go have a beer or two. Same goes for anyone else who's there. Unfortunately - and I mean that - on Saturday evening after the event, I'll be at a wedding back in Toronto. I actually have to cut out around 3...

Congrats for doing this! I'll be there as the captain of the Moto Safety Team, ensuring you have a smooth and safe ride both days. See you on the road! I'll be the guy on the BMW 1200GS, with lots of stickers all over the 3 cases.

Re: Member Spotting

Spotted a yellow X (I think 03 generation), bulleting down the DVP the other day early in the afternoon. I was on my bike, couldn't quite wave... It had every imaginable light on the roof and front bumper. And a short while later, I found it again parked downtown TO around the Wayne Gretzky's area o...

Ha ha! I wondered if you were a member!. I also tried (and I mean tried, older Pathy's are REALLY slow) to get ahead of you so you could see the sticker on the back, in case you weren't a member. Nice to "meet" you! I don't have a sticker :( I guess I should buy one I did...

Re: Long way round and long way down

In both cases I read the book first before watching the series. There's a lot more fun, way more stories, and a lot more descriptions in the books: their individual thoughts, their fears, etc... The first book, I read while on a business trip, and it was so exciting that I immediately looked into tr...

Re: Member Spotting

I'm pretty sure I've seen this X on here before. Merry Christmas whoever you are!! That would be minidisco. Definitely me - where was this spotting? I was all across southern Ontario over the Christmas holidays, from London to Pickering, and from Orangeville to almost Burlington... I'm gonna...
