Problems with bluetooth mic
I've done quite a bit of online reading on this topic before starting this long rant - and here's the summary of it: - apparently the poor quality of the Nissan bluetooth mic and connection are known problems - apparently Nissan switched vendors for the mic in 2009, and switched back in 2012 - appar...

Re: Camping Thread
For over two decades, we've been going to Restoule Park (about 90min north of Algonquin on the west side). The entire lake is sandy-bottom so there's excellent swimming and really nice clear warm water for most of the summer and well into the fall. There are a few hiking trails, one of which goes to...

Re: Headlight bulbs
I replaced the [stock?] bulbs with PIAA bulbs about 9 years ago, possibly more - when I was on a PIAA bulb kick due to my motorcycle. They cost me upwards of $70 per bulb, and so far the right side is still running (it's freaking bright, man!!) and the driver's side "burned out" about 4 mo...

Renewed thanks to Milton Nissan, and Morpheus!
They just granted my truck another several years of good life, after a relatively costly overhaul of key components - so what was about to become an abandoned trade-in and a spare-parts vehicle is once again driving strong! Thanks for all the work - and especially for the keen attention to details. ...

Re: Good Junkyard finds
Hey minidisco, take your truck to the nearest nissan dealer for the seatbelt issue, they should fix it for free. I took my old 95 pathfinder in this past winter and they were covered under lifetime warranty! That was the best tip: got that fixed, girlfriend über happy. Sent from my iDevice using my...

Re: Member Spotting
Spotted (and waved to) early-year black lifted Xterra with snorkel, heading east on 401 just entering Mississauga. I was in a hurry, waved as I passed you. I was driving my 01 Xterra with [too many] stickers on the rear gate.

Re: 1st Gen Xterra
Was there a particular problem with the front suspension on the 1st Gen? As for towing, the only thing I would tow is a couple of sleds or a couple of motorcycles nothing that large. I do want to get into a bit of off roading, so it's kind of a catch 22, I don't want to spend too much on something ...

Re: Insurance Surprise Today
I have everything...but my life...insured with TD Meloche Monnex. Their rate package for PEO is the biggest discount in the industry. They are/were aware that the truck is "accessorized" but it may be in a grey area. Ditto here. They raised no red flags about my Shrockworks bumper, lifts,...

Re: Taking the a$$hole mechanic to court
I use Mike at Mechanics Zone in Scarberia. He personally has a 1st gen 4runner he built with dual transfercase, solid axle swap. He understands 4x4's and does good work at good prices. Mike's a good guy. My mom's been taking her Maxima and now Altima to Rad & Mike for years. They've replaced my...

Re: Taking the a$$hole mechanic to court
Wow, congrats! The judge offer any explanation in the decision? Just curious what angle was most in your favour. Yes, he did. I'll paraphrase in a few key points: - truck sat in the shop for 26 days after being told that it would take 3-4 days for the work - it was released 3x in the span of 8 days...

Re: Taking the a$$hole mechanic to court
I am über-pleased to announce that the mechanic (despite bringing his lawyer) were found to be in the wrong by the Small Claims Court, and damages were awarded to me unconditionally. That means instead of selling my truck, I'll repair it some more and drive it till at least next fall/winter. Many th...

Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
The following year, they brought out a demo Xterra on the ride, and everyone was quite interested to see what this thing can do. It was a bit of a let-down, everyone agreed... However, the next year when the Xterra was released to the public, there were some notable revisions made from what we saw ...

Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
I started wheeling when I bought my 1990 Pathfinder SE: mostly camping, dirt tracks, etc. Sometime in 1996, Nissan had an event called "Camp Pathfinder", it was a weekend gig where they invited interested Pathfinder owners to come out and be taught just how much abuse these vehicles can ta...

Re: Taking the a$$hole mechanic to court
These are great leads, thanks - I'm also bringing in the TV commercials they had in 2002 and 2003 (see my screen capture in the previous post) showing the same thing. But definitely stuff in writing helps. Thanks again for this. I would still like to have at least 1 or 2 more names on my list, thoug...

Re: Taking the a$$hole mechanic to court
Among the 10 photos he leeched from my Facebook account (don't know how he got access to them, they're in a private folder), he included these shots - to his detriment, naturally, if it did come to a full court case and presentation: https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/247801_1015...
