Thanks Guys. Looks like an easy mod but it still uses the factory breather which acts badly. Or does it act better once it's out of the way of road spray/grime/etc.?

Hey bow_tied, did you have a chance to replace your diff breather? Mine is acting badly. Got clogged/jammed and caused the pinion seal to leak diff fluid. Mechanic cleared it but it's clogged/jammed again.

Approx. how much for the parts and can I do that myself?

What would be the best most cost effective way to achieve a 2" lift?

Maybe that's why someone left it loose in the first place. Oh well, once the warm weather arrives...

Yes, I went stock. Didn't even occur to me to take the opportunity to jack her up a bit. I'd like another couple of inches of lift over and above stock.

New info on this - I've ascertained that the glass itself is loose in the grippers. I've I shift the position of the glass while it's acting stupid (ie - going up slowly) it all of sudden goes up at the right speed. Ok upon closer inspection I broken leaf springs. Same thing both sides. The section of the the leaf that's second from the bottom snapped off forward of the axle. The section rearward of the axle is still there which explains why I didn't see it the first time I looked. So I need two new leaf spring...

Thanks for the feedback guys. Brakes are good. Sound came from the back...it was the sounds of something bouncing down the road after it (presumably) fell off my truck.

The back end is definitely too soft. It bottoms out way to easily if I go over a bump to quickly.

Update on this. It doesn't seem to be just the cold. It seems like moisture gets in the track on an above zero day, then the temp drops, freezes the water, then the slow movement starts.
