Re: What did you do to your rig today?
So the Yellow Top in the Pathfinder, the main battery is now doing well. It's holding voltage but short on cranking amps and doesn't like the cold. Sadly the battery is 6 months outside the 3 year warranty. I know Optimas have a bad reputation but this is the first one in what, 20 years, that had ...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
That almost looks like someone aggressively spun on the wrong filter or one with no gasket? @Nd4SpdSe
Ya, I'd agree, especially the way it's curved as well.
This week I was extorted into paying for a rear brake job, first time in my entire life I have had a shop do brakes for me. Of course ...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I did some oil changes on the vehicles this week and I wanted to change to a larger filter like I did on the Xterra. This shouldn't be a problem but it didn't want to work and decided to piss out oil. After talking with a ex-mechanic military buddy and by chance sending him the right picture he ...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Not today but I had my exhaust repaired 2x by a shop, and the gasket is blown out again after driving down for the xmas dinner. INFURIATING.
I dunno what could be causing it, stopped up secondary cats? Bad pipe alignment?
Blowout out a gasket feels like there's too much restriction downstream ...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I'd love to go this year but the truck just isn't ready. Too many close calls without sliders and skid plates.
Ya I get it. Never ended up putting the skids on my wd21 but was just lucky I suppose!
The Xterra I had sliders ordered after I did the body lift but didn`t arrive in time for ...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Ya everything new is huge $ Anyone heard anything on a new X coming out? or is it just rumour?
Fake news if anything. We'll see the day it gets officially announced, but Nissan definitely dropped the ball on not getting on that while the market got hot. They're focused on EVs, which is a ...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Congrats!! I hope you fared well.
Well enough that I can fix it all and upgrade/repair a few other things that I hadn't purchased yet. Except DAMN, this fuel sending unit was like $170 a few years ago...Screenshot 2024-02-08 222235.png
Still better value then Nissan's $100 strut ...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I figured out how to "Jump Start" one of the smart battery chargers into charging an extremely dead battery :)
I have a friend's friend, who I'm friends with, who works with large scale battery backup systems, and sold me a few of his old batteries, says that AGM batteries don't like to be slow ...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Trucks been working a moving some metal around using a friends 14ft enclosed trailer. It's a project for them, so makes sense to have access to their trailer.

I'm looking forward to getting my new diffs with lockers installed. Technically they're done, they called last week, but I got a revised bracket that's on it's way for the rear locker. Wam is allowing a group buy for their wincher. 25% discount if at least 10 people are in and will run from 17 to ...

Re: X-Trail needs a blower assembly
The X-Trail seems to be a mis-mash of a bunch of parts. I wouldn't be surprised if the blower motor came from another model. RockAuto has the motor itself listed for $35CAD.

Re: Sources for Shocks
Ya. I got a bad experience with my shocks from them. I ordered a set, and the typical Rancho 9000's only lasted a few weeks. I went to get them warrantied and shipped back down to the US. They wanted then for me to pay to get them shipped back up to Canada, which I've never paid ever on what part of ...

Re: Interior takes forever to warm up - mods for that?
I thought this was normal for most new cars.Mike_n_Jubes wrote:Cabin only warms up once we get rolling.
In park, idling, the cabin still isn't warm or defrosted after 15min.
Once we start driving, everything warms up and business as usual.
