Should be fairly simple with a floor jack. You're basically looking for play in any of the ball joints themselves or the control arm bushings. It'll be really obvious if it was enough to cause your tire issue for sure!

I can't give any shop recommendations in that area, but does it drive funny at all? How do the tires look when pointing straight and looking from the front of the truck? Sounds to me like the camber/toe are severely out of adjustment. If the front tires look like this \ / (tops of tire sticking out ...

Got an alignment yesterday, found a guy who would do what I wanted and not just "factory specs". Got the camber as close to 0 and the toe set right. The caster he set as much as it would go without screwing up the 0 camber, and equal on both sides, but he couldn't set it with the machine b...

Finally getting around to tackling this brake line. Apparently the copper lines aren't easily removed after being on for a bit. If anyone uses them be prepared to have to cut/flare the end on again (if you have enough line) or replace the whole thing if you have to change a caliper or wheel cylinder...
