Re: What did you do to your rig today?
bought a M205 Nissan Titan front differential. Might have 4wd by the June 4th rookie/shakedown run depending on how long it takes to ship. MMM titan front end in an Xterra. No more blown front ends

sulfuric acid. although you would need a heck of a lot do you body panels haha. I always use it on bolts whenever I'm working on the truck....just toss the bolts, nuts, washers...whatever into a tin of it....45 seconds later they look brand new, but all grey

yeah, we have a few newer dodge work trucks with this feature, you just tap it up or down and it blinks 3 times...perfect for lane changes

Re: Titan Swap Anyone?
don't mind the janked alignment. have to get new cam bolts for the lower control arms so I didn't even bother getting it close as I have no adjustment with just straight bolts holding them in place.

Re: School me on '05/'06 Xterras
If you wheel in an appropriate manner you might not ever grenade the front diff. however, my first one went on the street at about 20km/h and my second one popped in the snow albeit with excessive wheel spin. I've always run Amsoil Severe Gear in all my diffs so the fluid makes no difference. It's j...

Automatic Frontier is rated at 6500lbs vs the Xterra's 5000lbs

I think they are the same. I know the Frontier can tow 1500 more lbs. but auto or 6 speed I'm sure they are the same.

its going to look sweet. good job and love the make shift paint bay. If there is one thing I know about EZ Liner...that stuff STINKS. Oh man, talk about ozone depleting chemicals.

Re: School me on '05/'06 Xterras
The IPDM is a module that controls things like the interior lights, rear locker solenoid, signals, things like that. Intelligent Power and Distribution Module. It's an easy fix, swap the old for new (if it even fails) but I'm not sure of the cost since it was warrantied. Most of my issues are due do...

Re: face lift time
EZ liner is tits, seems to last a good while. Prep on the plastic is sort of key. My rear bumper step peeled but my wheels are in good shape after almost 2 years. Painted my custom front bumper with it too.

Re: School me on '05/'06 Xterras
Oh boy, Cons: weak front diffs low mounted alternator means they hate mud (my second is on the way out) radiator/trans leak issue (bypass is super easy) Random Slip, ABS, VDC lights because of finicky wheel sensors IPDM module failure can also cause the above lights fuel sending unit will most certa...

Re: Titan Swap Anyone?
foot in mouth, haven't really browsed the forums that much. in order to get an m205 he'll have to re-gear the rear to 3:36 which luckily comes stock in my Off Road Xterra. Makes it so much easier. You could swap the rear end for a M226 out of an OR Xterra or Nismo frontier, gets super costly though....

Re: Titan Swap Anyone?
Wow dude, you are going through way too much work to keep that stock R180A front diff. the WHOLE point of a full titan swap is to get the M205 front diff and titan half shafts for a much beefier set up, along with the extended track width and travel. Lol, I'm titan swapping the X real soon, just hav...

Re: Slip Sensor = No Power
Uneven tire pressure maybe. for sure its a wheel speed sensor. once the wheels rotate at different speeds the traction control kicks in to control the slip and cuts engine power to regain 'traction' to the slipping wheel, even with the VDC turned off.

Re: What causes "sticky" brakes
yup, X3...warranty that sucker. I've had lots of issues with my 06's brakes. 3 sets of pads in a year. the slide pins stick really easy, causing my inside pad to wear way quicker since it's always rubbing on the rotor. Warped my OE rotors so now I disassemble and clean the calipers in regular interv...

Re: Would you do this?
Id be all over that. I've done some pretty precarious jobs in the last 3 years, no where near that height...not even close. But I've been 60' over a raging hydro dam rigging 5 ton come alongs so we could lift the 10 ton spill gate.
The free climbing part would take some getting used to.
