Re: Coolant leak - BACK AGAIN!!!:irked:
So I was refilling my windshield washer fluid last night and noted that there's coolant sprayed all over the engine. Not this sh!t again !!!! I can't afford to have this problem re-repaired and can't loose my truck right now - working every single day till Dec. Hopefully it's the same issue as last ...

Re: Grinding while braking
i probably had 36K on those brakes (pads and rotors)
The rotors were picthed as they were quite nicely gouged! The inside (passenger) was trenched.
So now (after over $500) I have new OEM pads and rotors.

Grinding while braking
Been getting a bad grinding when I hit the brakes. Wonder if this has anything to do with it??? http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a156/xterramedic/brakes.jpg STUPID slotted discs! Just replaced them about 18 months ago!!! Oh well, the boys at Milton Nissan (aka North End Nissan) are taking care of m...

Re: Bender-built rebuild
The end is almost near. The sliders baked all afternoon in the sun. They now have 2 coats each of primer, enamel paint, and bed liner. All that is left is to turn them over, sand the pads that they were laying on, paint those and strap them back on. Primed pads waiting about 2 hours before being pai...

Re: Bender-built rebuild
F@#$!!!
Woke up this AM wanting to put on the bed-liner only to find the sliders soaked in morning dew. I'm going to let them bake in the sun to dry before starting anything more.
I hope this doesn't affect the end state.

Re: Bender-built rebuild
I hope you were wearing a mask! I wasn't for the first little bit. Ended up having balck snots and been coughing ever since. The mask I was wearing by the end was completely black! 2 coats of flat black enamel were put on last night. Letting it cure overnight before I put 2 coats of bed-liner. By t...

The amount of dust this project generated was enormous. I look like a coal miner now! http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a156/xterramedic/sliders/5.jpg These are the mostly stripped sliders http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a156/xterramedic/sliders/6.jpg These are the primed sliders (coat 1) http://i...

Re: Bender-built rebuild
the sliders are 99% stripped. There are some areas that I can't get to and to be honest, after 6 hrs of grinding, i no longer give a rats a$$. Plus my garage has been destroyed! I'm going to give them an alcohol (isopropyl) wipe and then prime them. As long as they last me the next 5 years or so, I'...

Re: Bender-built rebuild
OK:
Grind - Prime (self etching) - Paint - Bed Liner
I've also picked up some 3M Non-Slip tape to put on the top for getting in and out. I start in about an hour so I'll post pics throughout (i know this is a pic needy place)

Bender-built rebuild
After many seasons of rust and painting over them, I've finally removed my Bender-built (R) sliders. I've got my angle grinder ready, some primer, and a top coat. Still debating as to what the top coat should be, either bed liner or rocker guard. Any suggestions?? (ps) Jay - when you painted them or...

Re: Getting raped by mechanic: need input
i had an issue with the U-joint after my lift.
If it appears only at that speed, probably the U-joint.
Get yourself some greasable joints - solved the problem.
