Re: Over heating
That DOES reak of a Thermostat. Honestly I've never changed the one in the X, but I do know you have to drain the system to do it. If you have a warm dry place to work congrats, if not you're in for a chilly afternoon. Hardest part is access to the Thermostat housing, and again I'm not sure but I th...

Re: Rust on CB Spring
You've had nothing but luck with this CB thing. I agree with the heat shrink. We heat shinked the ends of the Ladder Rack on the vans when I worked Cable. It lasted the whole time we had the Vans (several years), and that was through the abuse of putting ladders over it all day. That having been sai...

Re: Electronics help!
If it IS just the ribbon cable from screen to HU I know a place I can get it in bulk. I get down the the Guelph area now and then. If you have a continuity tester to check the ribbon cable, I can prolly get you a chunk.

Re: hitch
It's all good man, I wasn't calling you a liar or anything... :P: As I said, it's entirely possible. Hidden Hitch got bought out (I know, they USED to make them in my home town) So the price could've gone up... As for the link from Summit Racing, thanks but I checked that too, it's the cross border ...

Re: hitch
I just checked that Rivatruck place. They only carry Hidden Hitch now, and they quoted my about $250. I know Hidden Hitch got bought out a few years ago by the same company that makes Reese. Maybe they jacked the price to match? I checked Maslack Auto Supply here in the Bay (it's an Auto Value Parts...

Re: hitch
I've been pricing one out, Crappy Tire is the cheapest Reese hitch I found. Though there's a parts store here in the bay that sells Curt hitches for cheap... $220ish if memory serves. I'm looking in to Curt hitches as we speak.

Hey from the not TOO north
Well, I've been lurking around this site for a while. Posted all over the place, made myself a general nuisance. Figured I ought to throw something in the newb section. I live in North Bay, Ontario. Raised in Huntsville, Ontario. Cottage near Bancroft, Ontario. I own an '04 Xterra SE, Black, S/C the...

Re: CanAm4x4
I think it worked out to $97 with shipping, taxes the whole shebang. The women I spoke with was very courteous. She had a lot of questions about my rig, mods I had, products I had purchased. I think they're looking for product reviews for stock they're looking at carrying. She also asked if I was a ...

CanAm4x4
Anyone check out this website? http://www.canam4x4.com I gave them a call to price out some shackles for the Xterra (as the shipping from 4x4parts.com was twice the price of the part). They seem fairly knowledgeable and they're 100% Canadian. I gather they've been in the OffRoad parts game a while. ...

x2 on X-treme. I'm running Garmin Mobile PC on my Netbook with the Topo maps. I can also run them on my phone (HTC Touch Diamond) to use as a handheld. Mapsource is a powerful program once you get to know it. As for where to buy I would've said Tiger Direct or NCIX, but the websites don't seem to ha...
