Re: Engine Oil

I ran Castrol Synthetic in my S/C Xterra when I had it and it ran great and never burned any oil. My commutes were also mostly city driving, from home to school or work 7 days a week. I bought my oil from Costco and at $40 for 6L, 2 cases gave me 3 oil changes, so approximately $27 plus the filter p...

Re: Another "Failed E-test" Thread

Had some difficulties getting the cat, there was a miscommunication involving shipping. I should have it in my hands a week today and i'll update the thread once I go in for the next E-Test.

Re: Another "Failed E-test" Thread

I havent checked for codes, I have no way to, but no lights on the dash are on. If it fails the E-Test after the Cat and such then I will do the O2 next. Seafoam seems to have helped allot too, and I picked up an air filter and some oil so i'm going to change them too.

Re: Brakes

I've had most, I had OEM replacements on my Audi, Ceramics with machined discs on my Camaro, Economy pads & rotors on the Pathy, and most recently EBC Red stuff Kevlar Pads and Performance Slotted rotors on the Jetta. Out of all, the Jettas setup is obviously the best, but at $350 for only the f...

Re: Another "Failed E-test" Thread

Seafoamed. After 8 minutes of Revs between idle and 4K it was STILL pouring thick white smoke, so I took it for a drive to get her to stop smoking! :P

Re: Another "Failed E-test" Thread

Thanks for the advice guys!! I'll run a bottle of sea foam through it this week, get the cat done Friday, put in some premium and some CT "guaranteed to pass" Stuff, and drive it around all weekend, then drive into Guelph Monday morning and give it a test while its warm and happy! :) Edit,...

Re: Another "Failed E-test" Thread

I do not qualify for a conditional because I am trying to fit the truck to be able to register it in my name. If I had already owned and had registered the truck when the E-Test was due, then it would qualify me for a conditional.

Re: Another "Failed E-test" Thread

The PO had the tune up done before he sold me the truck, So I can only assume that it was installed properly. I had assumed that the Cat had failed as well and have an appointment Friday for a new one. I was wondering if there was anything else that could cause my symptoms other then or alongside my...

Another "Failed E-test" Thread

So, I took the 1988 Pathy in today for an E-Test as Im trying to get it on the road, and it failed pretty horribly. The readings were: http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t245/ozzker91/etest.jpg Does anybody have any insight as to where I should start in diagnosing and fixing this?! Engine doesn't bu...

My Insanity

So, this morning I picked up my 3rd Pathy, a 1988 2 Door Automatic 4x4. Its got a solid frame all around, and surface rust on the body. The interior is mint, looks factory fresh, also had a good CD player, and a aftermarket locking and remote start system. The tranny is almost gone, but thats okay, ...
