Re: What did you do to your rig today?

Decided that I don't want to chance getting pulled over this year with all the safety blitzes I'm reading in all the truck groups, so I started fabricating a solution that will help keep my truck "legal" for the road.

Re: 1st gen - oil loss

They should do a dry and wet compression test. This will help indicate if it's top end or bottom end.

Re: Fender flares

I have a tube bender, I just need someone that knows how to bend tubes that can either bend the tubes for me, or teach me how to bend tubes in my tube bender.

Re: Fender flares

One of our employees got nabbed in Milton several years ago. After stopping the vehicle, police took his info, and made him drive straight to the Mohawk casino where they had a complete inspection station set up in their overflow parking lot. From what I remember he failed for e brakes inop, but don...

Re: Fender flares

I thought that most of this was going to be enforced during safeties rather than by cops. We are doomed :o As was my understanding too. The issue is there is still vague terms in the HTA that the roadside officers use, so they will likely fall back on these regulations. Because if they pull you ove...

Re: Fender flares

I've watched a few you tube how-to videos, and they seem to bolt onto the outside fender sheet metal, but then they use sleeves behind the sheet metal as stand-off's to provide the support. Ie: hit a tree. I'll have to fab from scratch, but it will give me an excuse to use the tube bender I bought a...

Fender flares

With the new dot safety guidelines coming this summer, it seems that there is more safety blitzes every weekend. The new guidelines give police hard measurements, where in many cases it was up to the officers judgement. The key is to not give them an excuse to pull you over in the first place. In my...

Re: Canoe roof rack

I've been strapping it to the crossbars, even put an extra one on from my spare xterra, but it seems to move around a bit. More of a pet peeve than concern. I saw the ones from Thule, online, but not in person. I'm curious if they're worth the cash and if they still shift around. They're not tight e...
