Re: What did you do to your rig today?
For those that remember, I replaced my batterieS back in November with a pair of CT Eliminator Ultra, but I had issues with constant drain (which ended up being the winch) killing it, and I spent the last few months self-boosting. I (finally) went to get it replaced, and they and I noticed it had a ...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
The truck for it's fender trimmed for the 33's, a new rear spray nozzle and replaced the dead 1750w inverter under the passenger seat with a new 1500w unit. I replaced the seat bolts with brand new ones while I was at it. Wheels bearings got tightened up and I replaced the auto hubs with those from ...

Re: Fender flares
I'm running HID's, and I get no more or less flashed, I'd say less actually, then when I was running my Silverstars. Here's my buddy's X with the garden edging in the rear http://i.imgur.com/wsqtOjf.jpg But here I have 33's as well on stock offset rims, and they tuck in nicely and legally. http://i....

Gen1 X Clearing 33s - Fender Side
I'm wondering what you guys do with your fender/liners for the Gen1 Xterra's to clear 33's. I've trimmed a lot so far, but I'm really looking like I'm close or could be touching the metal of the fender or the rocker, not sure, but I'm wondering if you guys could share how you clear your tires in tha...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Yesterday morning was a recovery of a GMC 1500 that got himself stuck trying to get closer to recover his ATV that he swamped hours earlier. To find him we took a few wrong trails, one being the snowmobile/ATV trail, which was deep and muddy. The MTR's definitely handled them like the tires that I l...

Re: New from north shore of Montréal
Hello from Quebec City! In Quebec, the cities like Montreal and Quebec City, they divide themselves like North and South Shore, and in Montreal's case, you also have the island. They stereotype and make fun of others this way, no different really making fun of someone from Oshawa. But in the end, it...

I did, I'm running a 165amp and I winch all day long on it. The original alternator did have a hard time keeping up.Yousef_Xterra wrote:I'll keep an eye out for Canadian Tire! By the way, did you upgrade your alternator with the installation of a new winch?

Re: Winch on Stock Bumper
SuperWinch 8500 comes on sale at Canadian Tire for $320. It works really good for the price. Mine lasted through 5 years of abuse, neglect, mud and winter. It's pretty simple, but what I wanted to do, but my dad didn't, was put winglets on the top to rest on the frame rails...would very much of help...

Re: Winch on Stock Bumper
My dad made it for me. He was a millwright at work and it was my parents that got me the winch for Xmas, so I told him he's got to make a mount for it, which he did. It's a 1/2" plate on the bottom, and 3/8" plate for the sides.

Re: Winch on Stock Bumper
Indeed. It's not mounted to the bumper, but on a plate that mounts to the frame rails. It's a tad easier with a body lift, but still very doable.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Changed the Power Steering pump (again) and replaced the fan clutch (finally) that went during AW. Nothing went right, especially when the banjo bolt decided to seize in the pump. Very, very fortunately, I had the spare from the Frontier.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I've been up in Puvirnituq for almost 2 weeks and finally coming home on Saturday (hopefully), but it seems that the girlfriend's car broke down, her rear wheel seized and popped the tire. She brought it into a mechanic across the street from our place (which my uncle had mentioned a week prior that...
