the quality of service at those places vary greatly (from co-op kids to guys that hate their jobs to some really nice honest knowledgeable people). i was a regular at one and had no problems. . . but they are overpriced, that's for sure, imho. if you're a good mechanic, would you want to just change...

first off, who was the "dude" or where'd you take the truck to? "quicky type/drive in" lube guy or some kid? 2nd, don't go back to there again...(a 300-400$ job?!) 3rd, meet some local gearheads and have em show you how to change diff fluid. cheers. (edit: not naming names...) ;)
