Maybe you could pick up a good used transmission at the wreckers?

Yeah that's fair. What do you think you would replace it with? Those new frontiers look nice but too much $$$ for me haha.

Fake news if anything. We'll see the day it gets officially announced, but Nissan definitely dropped the ball on not getting on that while the market got hot. They're focused on EVs, which is a market with much competition and poor sales that currently doesn't have he greatest long term outlook at the moment.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Rumours are all I ever heard. Nissan really missed the boat on that IMO. They could easily build one on the new Frontier platform and I'm sure it would sell well. But there's probably a lot of compliance crap they have to meet that would make it hard.
When I had to dump a ton of money into my car last year I was looking for newer ones and at the price point, I'll drive my 20 year old Golf for a few more years.

We are going but the X probably won't make it i haven't had the time to deal with it or deal with the logistics of getting it there.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I'd love to go this year but the truck just isn't ready. Too many close calls without sliders and skid plates.

Ya I get it. Never ended up putting the skids on my wd21 but was just lucky I suppose!

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
The Xterra I had sliders ordered after I did the body lift but didn`t arrive in time for my first AW, but I was still inexperienced as well but they have served well over the years. I have since dented the factory steps on the R51 already a few times this year. Nothing bad and jumping on them put them back in their place, but it`s a reminder serious off-roading is a no-no for me just yet, lol.
The Xterra I didn`t do slid plates until AFTER I dented the oil pan. Althought I`m damn sure I didn`t hit it, the driveshaft situation makes me think twice about doing that again.

Started rotating my tires. Just 2 today. Have to watch my back. Changed my front differential fluid. Put my rear bumper back on. Had it off so when I got it krowned, they could get in the frame easier.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Finished rotation of the other two tires. Was going to do an oil change, but rounded off the oil drain nut. This steel is soft. Going to the shop now.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Not today but I had my exhaust repaired 2x by a shop, and the gasket is blown out again after driving down for the xmas dinner. INFURIATING.
I dunno what could be causing it, stopped up secondary cats? Bad pipe alignment?

Blowout out a gasket feels like there's too much restriction downstream? A blocking cat?
My truck got it's winter tires installed. I hate the look, but I like the power that comes from smaller and lighter tires. I also went into the woods behind my house and ran out my winch line. It ran it back in properly and lubed it up using old motor oil along the way.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Good a new oil drain plug and oil change. Next is new front axle seals. Solid axle life. Going to try Off Road Addiction. New owners. Jeep dealers, at least the one I talked to, is charging 150 bucks a hour and they still want to diagnose it. So that’s 500 to just do that. No thanks.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
After talking to Mike, this is the direction I'm going. It's going back to the mechanic and they will examine the secondary cats. It's getting to be the time of year where the trucks get parked, have to swap the snow tires onto my volkswagen this weekend.Nd4SpdSe wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 9:02 amBlowout out a gasket feels like there's too much restriction downstream?
