Considering purchase of 2014 X

Post by mstevey »

Hello everyone,

I had a 2001 X that I loved, drove it to the junkyard after years and years of loyal service. Several years later, I'm now considering the purchase of a 2014. Just wanted to check to make sure that wasn't a problematic model year before I pull the trigger. Any thoughts amd opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

I am still learning about mine, bought a 2015 a month ago.
Mine had a slight vibration at idle, in gear. Apparently common.
The rear dif breathers are junk and are recommended to be replaced with a breather hose, apparently not hard to do, on my list.
Earlier 2nd Gens, '05-'11 I think, suffered the SMOD issue. I am considering a aux cooler to bypass the rad just to be safe.

Which model X are you looking at, and how many km?

Well, I bought it. I haven't picked it up yet though. It's going to be great to be back in X land!

Weird, I'm not sure why that is. I have asked @Morpheus. He has thrown some switches and levers behind the curtains. Are the pics visible now?

The driver door power lock quit working and it looks like I'll have to replace the window motor on that door in the near future. Have you guys seen those issues?
