Pathfinder seats in first gen xterra

Post by Yousef_Xterra »

Hello everybody!
I was wondering, can the front and rear seats off a pathfinder fit on a first gen Xterra? I've been wanting to put in leather seats in the X since my cloth onea are tipping. The junkyards around me have more pathfinders than Xterras so the xterra leather seats are unfortunately out of the question. Plus I heard the pathfinder seats were very comfortable! :happydance:

Looked around to see if this topic was discussed before but couldn't find anything :P

Cheers,

When I had my first generation xterra, I thought the same thing. Bow tied had a R50 at the time. I measured them. A little bigger seats, but more comfortable. I never did it, but I think it could work.

The R50 was 1997-2004, incase you are searching around.

Front seats can be made to fit just about anything, you may need to do a little fabrication work on the slide assembly under the seat, but it should work.

Not sure about the back seats, they would unlikely bolt right in, and not sure there would even be enough to work with.

Optionally, there are many companies out there that make leather kits for vehicles, where you take the seat cloth off, and install a leather one in it's place. I know they were available back when the xterra was in production, maybe doing some searching around for that first would yield better results.

I don't think just putting a leayher cover would be the same Morphy. I think there was more padding in the pathy seats. It was there more luxurious suv.

Honestly I don't find the r50 seats any more comfortable than the Xterra ones...But they should be similar enough to fit with minimal mods.

I should be heading down to the Junkyard by next week. Worst thing that could happen is the seats won't fit and I'll just have to sell them. I'll take a good look on how the back seats look and I'll try to make some measurements. I'll try to post the process of installing them with pics! :)

Our pathfinder seats (2002) were comfy enough being leather and all but as someone who is just over 6' I found the seat base just a tad short. If you have to customize anyway make sure you get something you really like.

Oh wow thanks for finding those threads! :D I don't think height will be a major issue, I'm not that tall, I'm more average height. I just need new seats cause mine are ripped and I am a big fan of leather seats! Plus from junkyard trips I've noticed that the pathfinder is much more common but if I find an Xterra with leather seats there I'll probably just go for that cause that means less fabrication work!

What's left of it.

Prolly a smidge under 6'1" - can only imagine how much those seats would suck for someone who was 6'6" - I only had a couple inches of head room with the seat lowered all the way.
