New Rookie, New Xterra, tons of energy!
Hey everyone! My name's Nate. I just picked up a wicked Solar Yellow 2003 Nissan Xterra...last night! It's in immaculate condition
Man, I love this truck. Found this site right off the bat and I'm eager to dive into this whole new off-road world.
I've always had a soft spot for the Xterra and finally I own one. It's almost surreal.
I'm hoping to connect with some of my fellow Xterra owners and go for some trail runs in the near future too.
Quick question to start things off regarding trail runs:
How well do these machines fair off road in stock form?
Thanks!

If you have a lot of questions come to the coffee meet on dixie. Just go to the events section and you will see all the details.

Welcome to the fun!! We have a couple stock friendly trails we do... but I have the feeling you may be bitten by the mod bug once you see some of the trucks that are in the club!

Yellow? Yellooooow? perfect, just what we needed, more blo..y yellow. Snafu, I hope your happy. (by the way, I believe we are ignoring Snafu right now anyway.):teeth: Just kidding Bro welcome aboard, yellow and all.
As for stock...the trucks do fairly well off the lot. You will do yourself well by removing the stock step rails(as they do not fair well at all) and the mudflaps, as they too will cause you duress. If you are a carefull driver and pick your lines and challenges well, the truck will perform admirably. However, as Pez stated, it won't last, you will get bitten, you will spend money on mods, you might even go without eating in order to do it.
have fun
Eric
