Shasta 1962 reproduction new $5000

Post by xrover »

Personally I think this is a great deal. The guy makes reproduction trailers, so it's all new stuff. This is essentially a new Shasta trailer. You can go buy a new one from the dealer for $15,000 or you can buy this beauty for $5k US. Check out the build photos. It is covered in filon which is the same material used on RV's, made to withstand the sun and road travels.
Very nicely kitted out for a small family. I happen to like the guy because his name is Len

The perfect trailer for 2. This Year old Custom replica of a Classic "62" Shasta is the perfect Camper.
Light weight GVWR is 1500lbs though it sits on a 2000lb axle. I tow this trailer with a 4 cylinder Nissan Truck.

Trailer has Shower with hot & cold running water Bathroom w/ new Porta Potti
20lb. Propane tank
3 Burner Range
Norcold LP/110V Refrigerator
2, 32" X 80"wide beds
Twin 6 volt batteries
Fiberglass exterior w/EPDM Rubber roof
2" ball
Awning.
13" Wheels
2000lb Torsion Axle
Fully Insulated. This is not a "Do-it-yourself" project. The Builder I contracted has done over 50 vintage trailer "Ground Up" rebuilds as well as almost as many restorations, holds an RVIA Masters Certificate has been an RV Technician for over 25 years as well as having an extensive Carpentry background. Lets make no mistake about this, This is no "first try at building by a novice".

Very nice. Perfect for someone who doesn't want to/can't refurbish an original. Is looks vintage from a distance, but looks new up close. Man, he can't be charging much for his time, there must be $3500 in materials there!

Exactly, start adding up the equipment and cushion costs alone you are probably at $1000+. That's what it's such a sweet deal.

The 13' Gaucho, the 2' shorter model than mine. Almost identical but missing the bathroom. It will push up over $2000.
There is a '73 Scotty in the GTA listed for $2k on Craigslist.
