Garmin introduces Garmin Custom Maps
Garmin today introduced a new service called Garmin Custom Maps. The service allows someone to take existing paper or digital maps and upload them to their portable Garmin devices. Compatible devices include the Dakota, Oregon and Colorado handheld outdoor GPS units. The service is compatible with both Macs and PCs.
Watch it! I'm keeping my eye on you.

HA!
I don't own any of the supported GPS units so you may be waiting awhile.

Now THAT is a cool feature... Of course, not everyone has access to a scanner in the case of paper maps, but still, it's a very cool feature for them to offer.

Well Cupcake, get on it! (I only have a nuvi )
Most photocopiers these days scan (the one at work does). I also have a scanner at home that I can use. Let me know.

Mine at work does as well. I have a scanner at home (all-in-one actually), but I have never liked it much (Lexmark), so I never bothered to install it when I upgraded my PC last year.Snafu wrote:Most photocopiers these days scan (the one at work does).
