My wife can be cold in the vehicle sometimes. We keep a small lap blanket in the car. Works wonders, she can wrap it around her legs/feet... sometimes she will position it to capture heat from the heater too. I'd die from the heat but it keeps her comfy so

Easy fix.
Duct tape Steph's door vents.
You still get enough air through your vents and come on, is the Xterra really that air tight?

Dont know if this is the same thing or not but,

When it is real cold outside I get this crazy wistling noise for the first few mins, but it sounds like it is coming from the windsheild (center of dash area)???? Must admit that i do not feel any draft though!

Maybe something totaly different :? Anyone got any input on this one??

HVAC vacuum leak? Does it go away or change if you change the HVAC settings while it is whistling?

I notice this to some extent in x kid's horny orange Xterra. It must be a common thing... even with heat directed to the floor, could still feel a cold draft on my right foot. It was NOT coming from the door.

HVAC isn't vacuum controled. Electric with some cables.

the fresh air intake is under the passenger footwell. I solved that problem by turning on the recirculate button. shuts off the outside air intake and keeps the passenger's feet warmer.

So that means only part of the air gets heated? That is a weird design, never had a vehicle like that.
