Re: Seafoam, for the win!!
Just Seafoamed the X today.
WOW. Tried to pour 1/3rd down tyhe EVAP line, but it stalled the engine after about an 1/8th. Went around to restart the engine and POOF! Smoked the street out. Poured the rest down the EVAP line, turned the truck off, and waited about 5 min. Poured the other 2/3 in the tank.
Started the X up, cab filled with smoke, and gave it to her around the block. Blue smoke for the first few minutes.
She runs a lot smoother, less vibration, and a bit more balls!
Love this sh!t!

Re: Seafoam, for the win!!
What is the difference between Seafoam and the dozen or so fuel/oil treatments on the shelf at CDN. Tire???

Re: Seafoam, for the win!!
I have got to admit...... I was not sure of this stuff at first!!
But...I suggested that we get some at work to try it. WOW, seems to work great. The reason I became a believer, (I figured that all the smoke was just the product burning up in the combustion chamber) but the cars that I tested (high milage) smoked heavy for about 10 min..... and continued lightly for about another hour!! I would lhave to assume that this must have been all carbon burning off!!!???
Anyways, going to try it on the X before the next oil change!

Re: Seafoam, for the win!!
side note on the seafoam do not do it in an underground parking garage (my bad) it will quickly fill the whoal area up with white smoke that seems to start coming out as soon as you put the vacuum line in the can the smoke comes out the other end bogged the truck down pretty good but no stall so I will have to take er out for a rip later tonight to get everything all worked out. I put 1/3 of the can (well that is what i guesstimated) in the vacuum line and the rest in the crank case (I have to change the oil some time in the next few weeks).

Re: Seafoam, for the win!!
I was talking to my Dad about this stuff and thinking about using it for some older cars up at the farm. He used to work at a refinery and recalls bringing home a jar of "detergent" that they use to add to the oils.
Some down the carb, some down the tank and some in the oil. Said it smoked like crazy for the rest of the tank like he had blown seals.
Changed the oil and topped up the tank. At every oil change since the oil stayed its like-new colour.
However he noticed that with every fill-up he had to add a quart of oil.
He figures it cleaned out the engine a little too good.
Dang I wish he still worked at the refinery!
