Steering wheel audio controls

Post by medic »

are there any aftermarket steering wheel controls for a stereo for the 02-04 Xterra?

I would like one that sort of looks like the cruise control buttons on the right. There is a hole on the left with a gromet over it, but not sure what that's for

Thanks

If it is the opposite of the cruise control[left side] it is a volume control for the stereo.

The hole is very likely there for the steering wheel controls radio if they "had been ordered" for the truck.

Here are pictures of a 2002 xterra steering wheel. You can clearly see that they are radio controls.

The controls look EXACTLY the same as the one in my 2001 Pathy.

I looked online and it doesn't look like anyone makes aftermarket controls for any vehicle.

You will either have to find an xterra in a scrap yard to pull them off of, or a Pathy of similar years. Make sure to pull out the wiring as well.

Here are pictures of mine.

When you have it on your truck, you will find it annoying not to have it when you drive another vehicle. When driving the gmc at work, I always find myself trying to adjust the volume through the steering and then get annoyed when I remember that the truck doesn't have it.

It is also good for me on the Pathy, as the on/off button on the main radio no longer works, and the only way to turn the radio on or off is to use the button the steering wheel ;)

Tell me about it...the Subaru has shift buttons on the wheel...ugh!

I wonder if this is wired already and all you have to do is get the switches?
