I replaced the FR sway bar end link on the Pathy this aft - what a PITA!! I thought it would be a real quick job, but the nuts are pinched-locknuts and the threads were corroded.... bah!

Did some mods to the idler arm. As I see it, the Crappalini IA support bra doesn't quite fit the IA, so some cool machine spacer washers has things looking better. Still a few more adjustments, but getting there.
And a nice fresh new 3.3L of oil, with a Mobile filter....

Aren't all filters Mobile?!?!? I mean, what's the point of an oil filter on a vehicle that's stationary?Geoffrey wrote: And a nice fresh new 3.3L of oil, with a Mobile filter....

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Yesterday Bender and I took my rear bumper off, in order to mock up Jayman's. In turn, that meant about an hour or so of pissing around with my bumper, giving it some much needed service.
We still can't figure out why the "Lube Man" I bought the truck from, hasn't heard of a grease gun!

Good times buddy, thanks for stoppping by. Got a lot done to Jay's bumper after you left. Brought the bumper to work this morning so I could use the torches for the shackles. Thanks for the help fixing my chop saw, even if it did take only like what...a minute?

Teehee That sucker was greased all the time. keepin grease in it was the problem. I think fixing the fitting will help.

Yeah, I have "fixed" it. I fill welded the original hole and drilled a new one. I actually have to drill a little deeper, and countersink the fitting, as right now, the grease is finding it's way into the arm, not the hinge. Shouldn't be too bad to get fixed up.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Ah man, and I was going to spin by to say "HI" to the Bender... Wish I had.
As for the filter, a little research told me that FRAM oil filters actually suck toads - they collapse and the by-pass kicks in after about 1000KM. Not sure if it's true, but a review is a review. I thought going Canadian was sort of cool. And I liked the colour - you know, shiny. Mobile filters, on the other hand, had good reviews from those guys who cut them apart after use...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I had a Fram one on my truck before I changed my oil pre-ECXC. Only reason I purchased it was because the end was grippy. I have read some pretty bad reviews about them as well, which is why when I did my last change, I switched out to the Mobil one, because it received far better reviews then any of the other ones I have researched.Geoffrey wrote:Ah man, and I was going to spin by to say "HI" to the Bender... I would probably use the OEM ones if the parts counter was open later then 5pm, and on weekends. It's tough to get there when you work the same hours the parts counter is open.
And then there is my filter relocation kit, but that's a whole other story...

Fixed the latch on my bumper, as per Mr. Bender's instructions. Worked like a charm buddy! Had to get the hooks lower than the latch.
