1999.5 Pathfinder Battery Draw??
My neighbour has a 1999.5 Pathfinder that he has hardly drivin in the last 2 years. Afew weeks ago I replaced his broken drive belts due to a seized A/C compressor (left a/c belt off as he did not want to replace the compressor).
So, after about a year of the truck parked in his garage he has started to drive it again. I ran into him yesterday and he said that the truck runs great now but if it sits overnight or all day at work the battery dies. He had CAA check it out..... they said the alt is charging normally and the battery is fine!
I have not had a chance to check the draw yet, thought I would ask you guys first before I get deep into trying to find the problem incase there is a common area to look???
He had mentioned that he thinks the problem may have started after he tried to use the rear wiper and it seemed to stick..... could a siezed rear wiper motor be the prob (you would think it would just pop the fuse)?
Anyways, thanks in advance for any help!!
P.S. Nice to be back, have had a busy summer and not much time to visit you all on the forum

Is the rear wiper siezed? Its a common place to cause a draw if the motor is trying to pull the wiper back to park position.

Thanks for the quick reply!!! LOL
Honestly, I have not even looked at it yet but from what he told me I was assuming that it prob is siezed...
Will the motor still try and bring it back to park position even with the ignition off???

Yep. It will. Pezzy's truck did the same. Pulled the fuse, no more problem.

That's exactly the issue I had with mine a couple years ago.Morpheus wrote:Is the rear wiper siezed? Its a common place to cause a draw if the motor is trying to pull the wiper back to park position.

I can't believe that one of the problems can be a windshield wiper that just can't go.
Wow. Morpheus. You be awesome to diagnose that problem!
