Took out the rad and hosed it down real clean...
Rinsed the condenser as well
Replaced and bled the brake fluid (Thanks to Big_Bird)
Rinsed the air box too, no more rats nest
Got the front skid plate removed eventually (Thanks to Slawek and Drew)
I'm off to paint my skid plate now

Do you by chance have the little storage cubby that you removed to install this (or was it from a Fosgate system truck?)? I removed my fosgate system, wouldn't mind the extra storage space if you have the storage cubby thing and you're willing to let it go.Nd4SpdSe wrote:Wanted to do this for a few years, but never bothered because I don't have any lights, but felt inspired to work on it using my spare dash trim that I picked up front a Fontier last year...

Making the pathy jealous today as I test drive an 2011 maxima that my grandfather is going to buy. I have finally converted him over from GM vehicles.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Finished up installing the rear braided steel brake line to go along with my revolvers... Just have to bleed the system now.
I picked up a boost gauge from PA on the weekend, and started on that as well. Got as far as wiring it in, only to find out that the POS doesn't light up. !@#$!@#$!@
So, now I have a hole in my dash, and a borked gauge that needs to be returned. It was the last one that they had in stock, so I will have to figure something else out.

Replaced two dead inner TRE grease zerks. The boots had collapsed due to no grease! Then greased the rest of the zerks. Next up: rad flush.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Decided that all the black on the truck is going to go flat black. Painted the rims. Looks awesome. Also lowered the front end a bit. I had it jacked a bit too high. Better clearance on the bump stops now. And, finally, found that there is no way to drill holes in the frame to get the skidderz back on w/o a 2" BL. So, I guess I am going to lift the truck a bit more, just so I can get those damn things on. Also redid some wiring for the roof lights that had gone AWOL. All is good.
Next: the roof rack. Must go flat black. I'm looking for a mean, nasty look.
Also discovered a Moog TRE has gone to hell. Getting a new one tomorrow. Some ball joints (top of UCAs) are going, but they will hold for a while yet.
I could post pics of the awesome flat black rims, but I am sure you folks have some imagination.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I do and I do. The truck came with the RF system and the shallow cubby, but I removed the amp and grabbed the deep cubby hole from a Frontier at the wreckers, the same one I got this second dash trim from....however, with that mod, it doesn't affect the cubby except I'll need to fabricate 2 new top brackets for it since they got removed on that trim in the process. So sorry, I like my deep cubby and will be keeping it.studum wrote:Do you by chance have the little storage cubby that you removed to install this (or was it from a Fosgate system truck?)? I'll PM you shortly after this, but it's an easy test, if not, bring it, I'll have all my gear with me. Should just connect both Red and Orange lines, I think it was, together, put them to 12v, put the black to ground and it should light up bright. You can also try one at a time, but any combination of the 3 should yield some light. The PA off of Thickson in Whitby have several of them I believe. Maybe the one here in Kingston has some too. What sucks for me is that my sending unit on my oil pressure one died a few months back and I haven't been able to find one to replace it with, apparently they're getting rid of the gauges since they're getting stolen at the stores, for what I read a few weeks ago online. They should at least sell them online...if the one in ottawa had one, or two, PLEASE pick me one up.Jayman wrote:I picked up a boost gauge from PA on the weekend, and started on that as well. Last night I fixed up a problem with my rusting (internally) KC lights.
This morning she is in the shop... Details at AW
This afternoon she finally gets some love (Wash, polish, wax, shampoo and detailing). The pour girl hasn't had any love since I left Sudbury almost three years ago. Unfortunately these days she has to pay for love.

Replaced timing belt tensioner
Replaced blower motor resistor
Coolant flush
Lube, oil and filter change

Nige, time to update your profile!! Although it's not a pathy, I do approve of the Fronty goodness.
Are you gonna change your name to Mike? I think that's mandatory if you have a black fronty.

Wow. That's very cool, Nige. You know, for a little stock truck with a gay little "Gosh I hope I don't hit a deer" bumper thing.
