BGF A/Ts in the winter

Post by Bow_Tied »

I have my first set. How'd you like 'em as winter tires? How do they compare on ice vs. decent all season tires?

I loved mine in the winter. Way better than the motomaster all seasons that I ran last winter. I never had any issues on ice. I kept them aired at 25 psi.

31x10.5x15

The ones I had, even had the mountain snowflake symbol which means it meets some rubber requirement and therefore qualifies as a winter tire, even in quebec.

I use ATs for the winter and found them to be great. We get a fair bit of bad driving up here.

Thanks for the feedback all. I figured they would great in snow. But if I heard here that they suck in ice then I'd buy winter tires.

I hope I can run them @ my standard 30psi. I don't want worse fuel economy.

Drove from Huntsville to Barrie last Thursday night in that storm and they ran great on the TuRD. I have had them at 34 psi since Jaunuary with minimal tread wear.

I have run them on my pathy, hardbody as well as several work trucks and they work great in winter. Shouldn't have any problems.

I had them on my Sidekick and they took that little truck through everything, including the snow / ice. I wanted to get them for my truck but had other things going on and had to cheap out.

My tires are rated for 50psi but I run them a bit higher than the recommended for the truck...above 30

When running a stock size tire on the road, you should go buy the tire pressure placard on your door all year around. Larger that stock, well, that's different. My tires on my 05 ZR2 and 02 pathfinder at stock size are both 30psi.

OK that interesting because the TPMS on mine won't shut off unless the tires are above 35PSI but the door placard says 30 PSI

Thanks Baja et al. If you all say they are as good or better than average all seasons on ice I will give them a try. :) Cheers!
