Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Is this fact or do you believe it to be true? Hypothetically if mine has been nothing more then a door stop in the garage for three years and it is fact I would order the parts to extend mine for the lift and reinstall it.Geoffrey wrote:By law, you have to have a front SB.
Hypothetically speaking it makes a drastic difference on the trails an I've (hypothetically) noticed nothing on road.

Yeah it's true. When I did the safety on my Jeep all those years ago, the guy made me climb under it and add the links to get the pass. it is something they check.

I find it funny that it is illegal to possess or buy refrigerants here in Canada, but border services has no problem letting you bring it through

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Bedliner on the drums won't cause problems if you mash on the binders? I don't think they're rated for more than 200F, and they'd insulate the drum against heat dissipation (potentially worsening brake fade). Though, I'm only guessing here...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Well had a can on me, and the original drums look crappy and rusty, was going to do it to those soon but I need rear brakes, figured why not paint them (I wasn't going to do the ricer colored drum) while they're nice and shiney new. Oh well, guess there's only one way to find out...
But they look so nice! lol

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Guess that's a good thing I keep an extinguisher in the truck!
I also have a drill but wire brush thingy and with my Dewalt impact, it could take that off in minute if I need be.
The rears only do a small portion of the braking anyway and,
it's not the Rx-8, I dont drive the truck that hard that it would cause them to head up that bad, and I'll notice anything if i smell it or I see it start to bubble. I doubt/hope it doesn't catch fire the first time out, heh.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Starting to get well again:
Driver's side fits like a glove. Not even tacked in, but I can't pull it out. It says "Do not weld!" b/c the fuel line runs right under the long seam you can see there, so I pulled all the sections out and joined them, then plugged it all back into place, but I was afraid that I would start getting all enthusiastic and do something stupid:
Bought some paint for the interior. When we're done stitching up the wounds, she's going back to fire red:
Passenger side has a scar or two still to be filled:

The best way is self tapping screws!
When mine got welded we used seam sealer on top which helped the truck not flood during water crossings.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
It's a Jeep. There's huge holes in the floor that let water out. Those are there by design. I'm fixing the ones that aren't by design. There isn't a computer. There's one cable that runs to the back that makes the square things on the back glow red. Seam sealer ain't an issue. But thanks for the advice! This is obviously not a Jeep crowd.....adamzan wrote:The best way is self tapping screws!
