Couldn't wait....the carrier is still black, but she's on!!! Couldn't believe how easy it was. I couldn't believe how much room is under there after you take the tire out. I was almost able to sit upright and I'm 6'
For some reason, the tire isn't going on tight even tho all 4 bolts are tight...any ideas?

I believe that the Hefty is the same as the Shrockworks one and the part where the tire mounts is adjustable in and out so probably you just have to move it out so the tire doesn't contact the carrier at all. I can get you pics if you want Sean.Yorkdiver wrote:Couldn't wait....the carrier is still black, but she's on!!! Couldn't believe how easy it was. I couldn't wait and it ended up getting put on with a head lamp. Now with the sun up, I'll have a better look

discharged my extinguisher and had to replace it with a smaller 2 lb'er.
But happy side is that I get to replace it - maybe with a bigger one!

Took the truck for a visit to Milton Nissan. Hi Mike!
Nothing done on the truck. Just saying Hi, ordering parts and getting an estimate on some work to be done before AW.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Today I replaced a blown rear brake line (looks like it got smashed by something!), washed it, cleaned out the inside, fixed my roof rack, and replaced the bulb for the dash clock.

finished the front end rebuild, took the truck in and realigned it.
have to say, i've missed the hum of the MT
didn't notice the missing swaybar at all, seems to drive fine without it. I'll see how it behaves.

The PO put shyte brake pads on for the safety and they squeal like a stuck pig in hot weather. After a year I couldn't take it anymore and put on 4 pairs AC Delco pads, ah, silence! They fit a little better too.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Washed, windows cleaned, Stillen Aluminium radiator installed, oil changed and new skid plate installed (thanks Robb).
Replacing some weak hose clamps, installing the stainless brake lines and swapping the 35s for the lighter 34 ATs tonight or tomorrow. Hoping that the lighter 34s and losing the heavy 35" spare (and some other weight) will improve fuel economy.
The new (warranty replacement) KC lights are waiting to be installed as well.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Yup - We were over there for 50 hours so between Sherri, Keegan and I - we were allowed to bring back $1600. But regardless, we've gone over there for 3 hours and brought back $400+ worth of goods and have never paid duty.Bow_Tied wrote:I think you need to be there 48 hours for that limit.Fyrtowr wrote:Oh ya - and we're headed to Western Michigan in 3 hours.
Since I won't be online tomorrow, we're getting some new sneakers for the truck at 8:00 am tomorrow morning. Taking advantage of the fact that we will be over there for over 24 hours so we each get to bring back $800 in product!

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
The 34s are back on, and they look tiny. Saving tire wear on the 35s and fuel are the only reasons they are staying on.Miner wrote:Washed, windows cleaned, Stillen Aluminium radiator installed, oil changed and new skid plate installed (thanks Robb).

One set of KCs are on, missed how bright they are.
Changing the tires I discovered both rear axle seals are leaking...it never ends.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
This evening I was bored so I checked out the front end, everything is tight except drivers side lower ball joint. I also ordered a new dryer/accumulator for the a/c as it has perforated.

Got the shoes.
Now it's time to put them together.

The new shoes are on. Christ those Destination babies make the truck look aggressive. And do they ever balance nice. Just a few weights. I guess I have spent too many years with Truxus and ProComp to have a feel for how a tire is supposed to be made.
Unfortunately my cool rims are 1/4" out on size. Getting pissed off with finding steelies for The Beast. At least they were cheap. Might be able to flip for profit.
Lastly I did the gay thing and put the white on the out. Not bad. Note the cat under the truck:
And one of the Jeep for kicks. She is running great! No issues with heat, and just a complete pleasure. Finicky at times, but that's a carb for ya. Just perfectly normal.
