I was under the understanding that once you have shifted into 4 wheel drive, the ABS was disabled?

Don't quote me on that (yet), but that's why I never pulled the fuse when I went wheeling.

I've never had a problem with the ABS kicking in either.

I think with the type of driving we mostly do as a club this would never be an issue. It would really only be a long downward hill that you got up to speed that would give any issues.

I agree with Mike. Thought it was of interest though, just in case. The southwest members sometimes go to ORV parks in the US where there is sand dunes etc. where this might be more applicable perhaps. Nonetheless, good to know I think.

I was in 4low and rolling back downwards from a hill I was having a hard time getting up, the ABS kept on kicking in. It was a loose surface, but after there was a small plateau and another drop

I'd be more worried about airbags before I worried about abs.

I have had the abs kick in at slow speeds while wheeling...the darn things got clogged up. Clean them up and good as gold.
