Same problem on the XC90, no leaks for 7 years then it puked the fluid over night. Only reason (found) was a really loose hose clamp.

Looking at ordering one too,b ut wondering if there's différences in quality/performance between aftermarket ones and an original OEM. What did Scotto end up getting when he replaced his?Simon wrote:Yeah Mike. I ordered from RockAuto. $260 for a brand new unit, shipped, to my door, including all taxes and duties. No core charge.
Napa that you directed me to wanted $503 + tax and core. I didn't speak to Al though, as he was out at the time.
Anyways, truck is running, idle is smoother and there seems to be better low end power. Thanks for the consult Mike!

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I have an aftermarket, and it's fine. No idea right now who made it or where it came from - I was broken in Morrsiburg. Came from some small shop in town - cost was something like 350- or a bit more, and I kept the old one.

New rims/ tires yesterday. KMC Addict 798 17"x9" and 315/70/17 BFG AT's. I am really disappointed with these rims mostly the fake plastic bolts, I duno what they were thinking. I really like the look in the pics but up close they are extremely FAKE and GAY. Thankfully they are removable that's gonna be my job for the day.

Not another one! Wha happened? I've been in need a clutch for a while now but can really feel it with the new tires. You going for another CF?PiDGE wrote:Wow nice stuff Flyer. All I did was an oil change and burn my clutch up. Mike I'll be calling you this week for a clutch quote...again:(
I see lots of people upgrading with mixed results but nobody every says what kind of driving they do. Be nice to hear from someone first hand who had both. I'm about to roll over 200k on the original clutch. The added grab from upgrading sounds tempting but do you think they will last as long?

I need to do this to my skids and sliders as well. I should have done it last year, but time got away from me as it usually does.BigRed44 wrote:took off the slider so I can re-paint them and pulled the gas tank skid for a re-paint

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I looked at my rear brake pads and noticed they are 1/2 way worn down yet I have barely put 25k on this truck since buying it in November 2011. I put new brakes on the back at that time for inspection. That included new calipers and guides. Grrr I liked my old trucks drum brakes that lasted pretty much the whole 6 years I had that thing.
Or maybe I just drive in the city too much.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I average ~60,000 km on rear pads.
Changed engine oil, front differential oil and transfer case fluid. Diff and transfer were Rita Purple with 110,000km, both seemed as good as the day they were done...not sure if changing them was a waste of time.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Not really a waste of time, at least you know your stuff is in good shape then. No huge metal chunks or anything. How many kms on the truck anyway? I am approaching 250k with mine. About time to start replacing the stock bushings. I don't bother with expensive oils for the rear diff, I just get the one that says its good enough for the LSD. Although robb did talk me into putting the amsoil ATF in the tranny.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
A little past 210,000 km. I try to put the best parts and fluids into her I can. She regularly pulls 1 - 1.5 times her own weight so it's the least I can do for her.
